Dear God it is never easy

This offense needs to wake the **** up. We should have been up by 24-30 plus points before the half with the field position we had early on.

I like the sweeps, the screens, etc but **** sake there is something between a screen and a deep ball.

Clearly, CHI came in to stop the run so exploit that. This wait and see till the last two minutes **** is killing me.

Play calling was pretty bad for half the game or so. Ballage and Snell suck. I was shocked to see McFarland inactive so he must be really sucking in practice. We needed him to show something because we need someone to spell Najee and Ballage and Snell aren't the guys. Moore had some issues but I still give him the LT spot over Chuks because Chuks still keeps making dumb mistakes in his 4th year in the league. The dude just doesn't get it. Banner needs to get snaps at RT next week against the Lions. It's the perfect game to give him and McFarland reps. I hope the Steelers are smart enough to do it.

Watching the Steelers is like digging a ditch. It's really not that fun, and sometimes the digging is ok but then it fills up with water, so you gotta jerk around some getting the water out. Eventually you get the ditch dug, but you look back and what a pain in the *** it was.

They have just become so hard to watch. Probably because they really aren't that good, which I am afraid is going to be shown after the Detroit game.

**** the play calling sucks

Freiermuth is a straight up man - in the red zone he needs to be targeted as much as possible

Najee, not a great night but the blocking sucked

Boz can ******* kick

Defense just likes to **** with us fans

Damn time for whiskey then bed

We don't live in our fears BUT we play not to lose !

Benn the philosophy since Tomlin took over.

I'm one of the biggest detractors of Najee (or any RB taken in the 1st round), but I was actually impressed by what he did with what he had tonight. He was clawing out extra yards on almost every run. Conner in his place would have had half the production.

AND probably hurt in the process.

Thank God this was on Monday night

BEST ******* post here !!!!

The Ray Ray fumble clouded up everything. If they get that ball with 6 minutes left and go down for a score, it would look like a fairly simple win.

In all seriousness...we know what are offense is....sometimes very offensive. The problem is again we saw a large lead evaporate. Of course the fumble by RayRay is not on the defense but we need our defense to clamp down on late in the game leads. For some reason we struggle in that area.

I am looking forward to watching the last drive. I need to see what Da Baaars were doing on defense. It sure seemed like the moment Ben went no huddle, he pretty much moved them downfield in short order. In fact, what did it take him? 1:10 without using a timeout to get in to FG range from the 25? AND that was with him completely losing a 2nd down because he thought he had them in a 12 men on the field situation. (Would like to see the overhead on THAT too, just to see if there WERE 12 men out there and the refs missed it.)

And he HAD that ******* 1st down on the rush. I can't believe that spot. It was garbage.

I wanted to support my bias that the refs were ******* with the Steelers, but they ****** with Da Baaars just as much if not more. They're really blowing chunks out there. As for the taunting penalty, It sure doesn't look like that guy did much, but the ref was going for his flag right away without hesitation so clearly HE saw or heard something that pushed his button.

They better be ready for Detroit not like last night because after that this soft coverage and O line that took a step back last night will be exposed early and often.

Acknowledging that the o-line is a complete transformation still waiting to gel, but imagine Najee with just the slightest crease to run through.
And while Conner isn't anywhere close to Harris, he's light years ahead of the hot garbage back ups on this team now.

Because Coach Tomlin choses to play not to lose instead of keeping his foot on the gas. The defense plays softer so no-one gets behind them.

The officials said the 11th man was running off the field. That makes no sense to me.

What you see is what you get. A team with a a past his prime QB ( love Ben), a handful of great young stars and not much past that. We are an injury or two to one of those stars from being one of the worst teams in the league.
This isn’t negativity. It is an observation based on performance in the first half of the season.

Has anyone been able to look at that in a freeze-frame to see where that 11th (actualy 12th) man really was ?

I'd near bet the ref's ****** that up as well.

Did anyone else see Ben was totally pissed off that he had to use a timeout. because the play was late coming. he looked up at the coaching box and mouthed get the play in faster. then went over to the guy on the sideline with the headset on and told him to tell him get the play in faster. he was so pissed that Tomlin was trying to calm him down.

I noticed that too. Ben ain't used to a guy being in the box (or wait, was Haley ever in the box?). Ben looked frustrated on a few plays that frankly didn't look like his other teammates' fault. I hate to say it because I love the guy, but I think Ben is partly frustrated that he just doesn't have it like he used to. I know that stat sheet looked good but he had some serious WTF throws that could've easily been picks.

I think Buster has a point.

I think Ben should just call the plays. It would save at least one wasted timeout per game (two yesterday).

Tomlin fell in love with Canada because Pitt got lucky and beat Clemson a few years ago? Whoop-de-do.

Generally I agree with this. But Monday night he went for it on 4th at least twice. And both times they were within reasonable FG range. So he was certainly being aggressive as far as that goes.

I just HATE seeing endless 3 and 4 yard pass plays, 3rd down plays that are thrown well short of the line of gain and the offense basically looking like the keystone cops every time they snap the ******* ball.

I mean, seriously. Who looks at this offense on say 3rd and 5 and says. "No problem?" Honestly, they get in to 3rd down and I'm already resigning myself to hoping for a good punt and decent defensive field position more often than not.

I guess my comment was leaning more towards the defensive side of the ball.

You are absolutely right on the offensive assessment though.
