Deebo Goes Scorched Earth on Tomlin..the things you suspected: Arrogant, Petty, etc. You Are Correct.

I actually hope Tomlin does coach again. I truly don’t believe he will be nearly as successful as he was with a HOF QB like Ben.

Tomlin is too stubborn change his coaching style.

Let’s see Tomlin take on a 3-14 team and build them into a playoff team…. I don’t believe he’s a good coach able to do that.
That will never happen(taking a 3-14 and making the playoffs.) He walked into a building with a championship winning coaching staff and a Hall Of Fame QB.....that is highly unlikely to happen again. Which is why it wouldn't surprise me if he never coaches again.

It can't be money, because the TV money will be way better and he gets to work a lot less. If he goes to another team it will be an ego thing. He's going to prove everyone wrong....and if he can't he ruins his legacy. That's why I think he's done.

"I can't give you all the ingredients to the hot dog...and even if I could I wouldn't know how to prepare it..." " I get mine like I get my championship football teams; already prepared for me."---Cooking With Mike Tomlin

"We playing tic-tac-toe, because the other guys see it."

Right. It sucks when other teams can tell what is up just by a glance at the line up.

Tomlin never got this.

"I'm cleaning house to" to get rid of the stink of Tomlin. Significant.

Deebo needs to let Hayden talk. He interrupts him constantly.

"I don't want teachers. I want professors of the game." This
Exactly! Got so sick of opposing teams players laughing at the pop warner stuff Tomlin ran for years.

Can't blame Deebo for being salty. Tomlin lied to him to keep deebo lingering around instead of shooting him straight. And thats on Mike for not handling what he felt like a slight better than that. He's the coach meaning he's like the parent in the situation so he never should have text deebo or put it in writing. I believe deebo when he says it wouldn't bother him if Tomlin said what he said to the world, it's his opinion and people are entitled to opinions. Tomlin owes deebo big time because even though mike thinks woodley is smarter it was deebo that created 14 point swing in the superbowl using his brain. I love deebos honesty and not being afraid to veer away from the herd.

seems Tomlin lying to players happened a few times other than Deebo too.

The exiting of the Dick LeBeau was the beginning of the end. I didn’t like how he was exited and the defense changed.

Nope and alot of people at that time said the game has passed him by, he refuses to play man, blah, blah, then he goes to Tenn and they ran more man then almost every other NFL team, proving it wasn't his call to play so much zone that final season, but Mediocre Mike got what he wanted, both coordinators gone and his hands were in everything, and we see where that got us.

Bingo. His playoff win percentage will only get worse.

what i got from the video is Deebo saying that Tomlin began taking concepts out of LeBeau's defense. Whereas one look could be 4 different blitzes, Tomlin began taking them out to make the defense easier for the defensive guys he drafted to step in and play.

Reeks of a slight to Timmons, since Timmons was the first pick Tomlin had. Though Timmons had a long career. But, Woodley was also drafted in 2007, right behind Timmons.

Though it was around that time frame that we began drafting more "athletes" to play positions as Deebo said instead of guys who already had experience at that position.

Does any of what Deebo said change my feelings towards Tomlin? No. I still believe he smooth-talked his way into the job and considered himself the smartest person in the room, no matter which room he was in. As has been said before, his arrogance and ego were his downfall. Tomlin came across as being very confident in any setting and while the saying goes "you can't polish a turd" - Tomlin could make you believe that turd didn't need to be polished as it was already shiny.

Idk. None of us where there. Maybe sometimes players hear what they want to hear? Or is it lying when circumstances change? With Harrison, he had to see what was happening. They drafted Dupree in 2015 #1, and then Watt in 2017 #1. Those guys were gonna play. Harrison was 39 and while he could still get some pressure, any coverages they may have asked them to do he was a liability. I was pissed at Tomlin for whole thing too, I felt they could have found a role for him. But being lied too? He should have seen it coming. He was in the league since 2002. He wasn't the first guy it ever happened to. With Blount, I'm sure they had intentions of giving him more carries. Bell was only a 2nd year guy, he had some injuries his rookie year, they might not of known completely what they had. But then Bell just has a phenomenal year. Would you have taken him off the field too much with the way he was playing?

Remember when he "retired", Keith Butler said Shades started making the defense's calls in LeBeau's last two years.
I noted at the time that the D seemed to be getting worse but I thought at the time that our guys were aging out and/or teams were figuring out LeBeau's defense.
But it turned out that it was just Shades moving back to his beloved Tampa Two.

Butler was on DVE not long after he "retired" and one of the guys on there asked something along the lines of, what's it like calling an NFL game, and he laughed and said, "I would love to know that" meaning he wasn't calling the defense.
Yep, Tomlin trying to run his Dollar store version of the Tampa 2 with our ILB's trying to cover the other teams #1 WR all the time.

Tomlick should cut a check to Harrison for extending his career indefinitely.
