DelRio out in Oakland

wow, 40 years ago and the passion is still strong. lol

If Madden can still hold a grudge about the Immaculate Reception, I can still hold a grudge about them being cheap shot hacks that were lucky to win a Superbowl. All the talent in the world, and no discipline. They were the Bungles before the bungles. And for some reason Madden is recognized as a great coach. He was lucky to get one super bowl, and wan't the best team in the league that year either.

**** Madden and **** the Raiders...

Of course Butler isn't helped by a lot of Colbert's draft picks either. :rolleyes1:

Even if it was position coaches, I'd love to see the Steelers make an upgrade on defense.

Look at the instant upgrade the Steelers had with all of those high draft picks once Munchak came on board. Saxon had a strong pedigree working with some of the best running backs in the game and Mann has done very good work with the receivers. John Mitchell had a long, proven track record with defensive linemen and this is easily the strongest position on defense. I've been on it for years, but I would not be disappointed if they looked to make changes with their (outside) linebackers and defensive back coaches.

Definitely a weak spot but how much is due to coaching and how much is due to ****** draft picks is hard to say. Worilds quit when no one made him an offer, Uncle Jarvis didn't light it up in AZ either, and Big Play Willie Gay is still our best DB.

Doesn't look like the Rooney Rule will be followed.

:high5:

William Gay is not even close to our best defensive back. Burns, Haden, Hilton, and Sutton are all better...not going to include the safeties because that's a different position.

The Steelers have done a pretty good job developing the inside linebackers with a first-round pick (Shazier) developing into one of the best in the game while a sixth (Williams) turning into a solid starter.

What have we seen at outside linebacker? Has Porter developed anyone at the position? Watt had a very good rookie season, but let's be real, this guy was going to be good no matter the coach. It's a matter whether someone can push him beyond his natural potential. I love everything Porter did here as a player, I just don't think he offers much as a position coach.

I have thought for some time that Lake and Porter were our weakest positional coaches. Not sure my opinion has changed.

Porter played under cowher, le beau, butler. Maybe he knows how to run a defense. Maybe he could make a good DC.

Maybe if a pig flew out yinz *** you'd claim it had wings.

Some hate burns so hot it never dies. The raiders& cowboys from the 70's sit high on that list

Just think of how much you hate .the rats&pats.

Agreed. Hate, hate, hate, hate the Raiders and always will for those contests in the 1970's.

**** the Raiders. If we didn't lose both RBs in the AFCC in 76, Madden would have never won a superbowl. **** that fat **** and **** the Raiders!

That's right. ****, if they wouldnt have been gift wraaped a call in the playoff game against NE the week before, they wouldnt have even been there. Thats why, at the time, I wasn't all that upset with the tuck call. Justice. Howeveer, now its different.

This is great. When I tell younger fans my hate for the Raiders, you can see them thinking, huh? If I ever go to Cali I'm going to find out where they buried Al Davis and go piss on his grave.

I guess the Raiders front office figures Gruden is needed to pull their young, million dollar, QB out of his slump.

Maybe yes but NOT here. Take him anywhere but here, imeadiately !!!!!!! Very weak coach as he wants it to be about him.....still

Salute the nation

Shame cause Worilds was pretty strong.
I liked thought of Jarvis being a Steeler cause I'm a UGA guy, but he had spinal stenosis. I had a hunch he was not gonna impact positively.
I don't know about Chick and Dupree. I feel they can offer more. But I just don't know.

Our best DB is probably Will Gay
Our best DB coming in on a blitz is Mike Hilton

Raiders were the first team I ever learned to hate. Then the Cowboys...
