It's obviously wildly underreported on FoxNews and other pro-Trump outlets, there are some key facts that I think you're a bit eager to sweep away. The misnomers I've seen expressed on this board are mind-numbing, starting with the notion that "nothing has changed with ICE/immigration enforcement, that it was all the same under Obama/Biden," which is pure fiction and fantasy.

I agree with enforcing illegal immigration laws, and deporting illegal aliens and criminals. I agree that Biden and the Dems were incompetent in handling it. My point of contention is the belligerent overreach we're seeing from this administration, as is the case with basically anything and everything they set out to do. The executive branch was not meant to have unabated, unilateral power in this country.

So riddle me this. If Obama didn’t have ICE out there arresting illegals, how did he manage to deport so many? Did ICE just roll up, tell them they had to leave and they were all like “ok” and left? Were they given deportation notices and they all just complied? No, ICE was out there taking people into custody and deporting them. The difference is that the blue hair nose ring crowd wasn’t out there causing problems and local police departments cooperated because the guy calling the shots was a democrat. Without all the conflict it isn’t news.

And for the record, Biden and the Dems weren’t incompetent. It was criminal. They threw the door open and had their NGO’s out there telling illegals how to game the system to gain entry, all while going on TV and lying day after day that the border was secure. Then they started a whole new welfare program to house and feed those they assisted in invading the nation.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, ICE agents conducted a military-style raid on a South Side Chicago apartment building, detaining hundreds of residents, many of whom are U.S.-born children.

On Thursday, after Chicago journalists and protestors sued the federal government alleging “extreme brutality” from agents on the ground, a federal judge in Illinois blocked federal agents from using force or threatening to arrest journalists.

Sandweg worked at the Department of Homeland Security for five years, spending four years as legal counsel. He capped off his DHS tenure with a one-year term leading the nation’s immigration enforcement agency from 2013-14.

Immigration has always been one of the most polarizing and political fields of law enforcement, Sandweg concedes. But, he adds, it’s become even more polarizing now.

In a wide-ranging interview, Sandweg also expressed concern that ICE wouldn’t be able to adequately train the rapidly expanding ICE workforce and got candid about one of the most divisive trends at the agency: “I hate that the agents are wearing the masks,” he said.

If we're all being honest with one another, I've viewed a few videos where ICE is unprofessional and, in some cases, straight up jack booting fools. I get there are agitators and violence against these agents, but where is their collective bearing in dealing with situations to de-escalate and at the very minimum, efficiently cuff and remove illegals. The MSM is looking for fuel, and these asshats are handing them gasoline. I saw a preacher take a non-lethal round to the head from a rooftop while he stood on the street exercising his first amendment right. Whether you agree with what he says or not, no American citizen should be treated in this manner.

OFTB said it best. Trump (unlike some predecessors) has mobilized ICE to do the job they are literally hired to do. There is no overreach. They are operating within the bounds of the laws, passed by Congress, to enforce immigration law.

Where you and your side have been hoodwinked is believing in Sanctuary Cities. You've all been conditioned to believe this is noble. When in effect it is literally cities within our nation picking and choosing what laws they want to follow. SCs are refusing to honor the laws of the United States. That is overreach. And illegal. These cities refuse to hand over incarcerated, illegal aliens to ICE - which every other law abiding jurisdiction does. And many times, these felons are released purposefully so as not to cooperate with ICE and follow the law.

THUS, ICE has to go in without local law enforcement/judicial support to UPHOLD the law and find these illegal aliens.
