IMO..,Yesterday was not a good day in America.
Self-inflicted problems are the worst kind.
I just don’t understand how cities and states can legally consider themselves something called sanctuary cities and or states?
If you consider yourself a rule of law country, and it must be followed, how can a politician or politicians declare that they can harbor and protect people who are illegally in our country, with a lot of them already having a criminal record or are wanted by law enforcement.
This is mind blowing to me, and is the root cause of this problem across the nation.
Once again, excuse my ignorance on this subject, is the designation sanctuary city or state legal under the constitution of the United States of America? Has it been challenged in the Supreme Court? What court or which courts have considered a sanctuary design designation a legal institution in this country?
Sorry for my ignorance on how this all came about and continues today from my regular old American citizen perspective who was brought up to respect law and order, love God and country, and pledge of allegiance to the United States of America, the sanctuary designation seems to contradict or disregard all of the things that I thought this country stood for.
The worst part of all this sanctuary, madness, is that it pits law-enforcement at local levels against law-enforcement at federal levels, and has divided citizens of this country that all should be working and living together to protect the current and long-term interest and viability of this great Republic. We just can’t continue doing this path.
The sanctuary designation across the nation must be declared null and void as soon as possible
The house divided cannot stand.

You know, an objective person could view what’s happening now as comeuppance for lawlessness when it comes to immigration law. You see, if you don’t allow millions of unvetted illegal immigrants into the country over the last four years there’s no need for this ice action. If we are truly a nation of laws, why do democrats just ignore so many who break them?
Tim Walz says we’re at war with the federal government, but that’s ok right? Surely that wouldn’t incite the violence against law enforcement that we’re seeing daily. IMO, they are using the "sanctuary" status to rule out any single person who should NOT be deported being deported. They only want 100% compliance. While that is admirable in itself, its also just not feasible considering that other countries do not maintain information on their citizens as well as other countries (particularly those countries where they immigrate to, which, btw maintain some serious overwatch via census, tax records, property records, licenses, etc).
on the surface, it's great. but once you pull back that first onion layer, it gets worse and worse.
