Deshaun Elliott

another intelligence lacking post by this dumb as*s
Cause trading watt is a genius move. Again where was Elliott when chase was running circles around ramse, where was Elliott when when kraft was eating up the back field on back to back plays?? Think this injuy was the best thing that happened to him

If Ramsey has any desire to continue playing in the league he will have to make the switch to Safety sooner or later. I would say now is the time for him to start transitioning to Safety full time.

My biggest concern is that they still need to move on from Slay. You have to ask, is Ramsey better for the team at Safety, or replacing Slay at CB?

we played a very good team.. ! right? yes. But yes we lacked push up front,, everyone seemed flat. Queen is not what we hoped he would be. With only 2 DL he is screwed. But we also got very little from TJ , and herbig and highsmith. We got little from the defensive backfield especially after elliott left . Austin needs to go,, yes, i know dumblin is calling the shots here... but this is the solution in a real world.
And once again… did 99 play at all tonite?
Seriously..

99 had the same number of impact plays as 90 and 97
Terrible....aint it?!
At least Watt and Heyward did make an appearance or three on the stat line...
You would think this young man would flash once in a blue moon at least!
Not mentioned once...No pressures....no unassisted tackles...
At least he didn't jump off sides or line up in the neutral zone..
We need this guy to be at the least ....very good....not another invisible d-linemen...

Well, they gave Watt credit for a tackle for no gain or a loss (I forgot which) that was clearly made by Harmon with Watt coming in after.

My point is....that is a position of great need to field some young talent for this team, and the organization once again has seemed to lay a rotten egg with a premium draft selection.

Peppers is a moron
Thornhill is awful and makes zero positive impact
Clark has had 1 decent game but also some clunkers
Killebrew is ST only (and beat Elliot to IR)

Elliot was the only safety worth his salt on the entire squad. We knew this was an issue going in.

I think the obvious answer is Ramsey to safety and shuffle the deck at corner bringing back Beenie to the game day roster…as any safety brought in at this point wouldn’t be able to hop on Tomlin’s moving train anyways.

Not like it matters as this team has the same damn ceiling every Tomlin team has…even the dinosaur Rodgers won’t be able to counteract the Tomlin effect…if he’s lucky he’ll reach “the standard”.

Until Tomlin goes same old sorry a$$ $teelers and nothing changes. The song remains the same…underachieving, miscommunications and disappointment to anyone who was foolish enough to get their hopes up and buy in.

Happy Groundhog’s Day!

It’s almost like we’ve watched this pathetic movie once or twice already. So many good coaches coming into and already in the league lazy a$$ Art needs to go get one. Looks like my preference Vrabel is starting to put it together in NE, that would’ve been a solid choice for building some identity.

The next HC will have his work cut out for him. I hope that's a lot sooner than later.

Safety all day. Think he'd shine there

Watching what the Lions DC did with zero opening day starters in his secondary in his first year as a DC really makes ya wonder wtf the Tomlin-Austin “brain trust” is cooking. Good lawd that entire secondary they had out there makes almost Slay’s money combined. Maulet even looked pretty damn good since freed from the circus.

It’s shocking how ill prepared this coaching staff and squad looks, even knowing they will disappoint, the levels which they outdo their own incompetence still can be astonishing.

I’ll gladly take my chances with someone new.

I hope they put Wilson in a ss let take the tightends… tightends are just a big part of the offensives now Wilson is fast put him in a safety and let’s go back to hitting ppl… watching preseason watching him work out I thought then his best spot was ss GoSteelers!

I dont think it really matters. They got no push. They can't really stop the run. When they blitz They get diced.
I believe something like 20 of Love's 29 completions were less than 5 yards past the LOS. It is all scheme. Teams have been Bradying us for years. They take what we give.....because we give a lot. Our players just are not put into a position to make plays. On Love's 20 straight pass completions 75% of them were check downs. It is all about the scheme and Tomlin's defensive philosophy....

Predictable is the least dangerous thing an NFL team can be.

Art gives you Mike Tomlin, the most predictable coach in the NFL.

Watching this historically predictable D is only dangerous to a Steeler fan’s sensibilities. Opposing offenses lick their chops when they see the “get right” layup D coming up on their schedule. We used to have a D that was to be feared (long ago) and man that was fun…even on a loss you were gonna know ya played the Steelers and at least come away from the fight limping.

Next happy opponent, the Indianapolis Colts…come on down and get your 35-45 freebies the Steelers will be handing out.

I thought I saw this as well.

Harmon may need to paint his cleats GOLD.

Will have to start over with near the entire staff. Will need to jetison many players. He will have his work cut out, but Weidl will be a great assist to said coach.

I hope Art2 has lesser influence and my hopes of young DAN will have some force and passion.

Id love to see a first time HC brought in as the next guy..,a guy without too much mileage

A guy like Luke Kuechly

Listening to him call a game and you can just hear his football IQ. A guy that watched tape like no tomorrow and could call out plays before they happened. A communication guy that kept the entire D lined up and in position. A true leader. A guy that breathes football. Had his bright career cut short by injuries and never won a championship so ya know he’s gotta still have that hunger.

If I’m Art I get that man on the phone and see if he has any interest in coaching. I bring him in and fire Austin and let him cook as the DC as an audition for the HC role. If he can get this band of underachievers playing he’s got the HC job as soon as Mike passes that magic number setting the Steelers HC win record. And I tell Mike to sit down STFU and stay outta the man’s way who is trying to fix his mistake of a Defense.

Nope nope. In his press conference he said its not about schematics if you will. Its about playing better.

I'm not exactly sure what you were expecting for an IDL selected in the back third of the first round. Harmon was never going to put up monster stats this year.
