Devin Bush

Yet the coaching staff kept Bush out there, as the winless Detroit Football Lions averaged almost 6 yards per carry for seventy minutes.

Sometimes, you just have to admit that you made a mistake.

He looked decent pre injury 🤕. Now not so much. The jury isn't out but he is trending in the wrong direction. He is a flow LBer he won't be blowing players off blocks. He needs a top DL to keep him clean and right now the Steelers are a few men short. Time to invest in the Dline.
I said in the game thread that he was out there pussyfooting around. He's been doing it all season and it's costing the defense and the team as a whole. If he's afraid, get his *** off the field. If he's injured, get his *** of the field. If he's, to borrow a word from my old H.S. coach "malingering", get his *** off the field. I know for a fact Spillane will fill those damned holes against the run. Might not bring **** against the pass, but neither is Bush. And, at this point, what could it hurt to start giving Johnson a few snaps?

Good question I thought Johnson looked like a good prospect. Perhaps he hasn't developed as quick as they like? But knowing Butlin they prefer to force feed who is out there unless there is an injury. I always think when Spillane comes in offenses say ok a good time to pass. Such a liability in that department.

Tomlin's use of "his guys" at the expense of talent over the lesser players, is old. He is just that way.

Yeah, but this last game? ****, let them think it's a good time to pass with a QB with back issues. The Lions didn't want to be forced to throw and Butler (and by extension Tomlin) played right into their hands. smh

I thought for sure the Steelers would've adjusted by putting in Spillane in place of Bush. The Steelers should BEG a team like the Lions to throw the ball.

This thread feels a lot like the Lawrence Timmons threads in year 3...
