Did anyone mention the Defense?

There is multiple of us , we are special!

I was ready to give up the first few series yesterday I have to admit. It looked like the offense wouldn't score a TD. Then the D gives up a TD. Second half the D was pretty impressive even though it was against a backup backup QB.

I myself could NEVER root against the STEELERS. I can’t even take a sure bet against them as I’ve never picked or bet against them.

I’ve been guilty of wearing my feelings on my sleeve, sometimes a short sleeve. I’ve stuck my foot in my mouth many times and I hope I acknowledged that if brought to my attention.

Crow, to me is best served medium well, with moderate to heavy tobacco sauce.

I post on information I read, occasionally will use a stat or two to enhance a post, but mostly speak from my heart or gut feeling. That in itself can be a problem both pro & con.

Bottom line is most here have a passion for our beloved STEELERS and show it day in and day out. Hella, that is what makes this site so attractive. I try to appreciate many here, but an occasional few do get to me and I so speak, I think that’s human nature.

As for Coach Tomlin, yes there are times I think he should be replaced. There are also times I see he is doing what good coaches do. Lately he is a positive and I can see the “player(s)” being coached up (George / Broderick / Troy / Zack / Dan Moore / Justin / and others, something many have said never happens.

I’m along for the ride and my emotions / right to ***** as well as compliment, are here as well.

Salute the nation

Even the TD was a misread. This is Steelers football you never have to give up as most games are nail biters to the end.😅

Three games, only gave up two touchdowns, averaging 8.6 points per game...lowest in the NFL. As this offense finds it's identity, this could be a dream season for the Steelers.
I already mentioned that in another thread yes,

A Fields of dreams. Would be a catchy Steelers shirt huh?😁

Wasn't it just their last 2 drives of the game?

Herbert was in for the 3rd quarter

-5 yards total offense for the chargers in the second half.

I'm not sure but that sounds pretty damn dominating
Dominant, but also mostly against a 2nd string QB. The defense is absolutely what carries this team.

I had to watch the second half on and off while doing other things. Can't set several hours anymore and watch a whole game start to finish.

Herbert was banged up coming in, and didn't he go out early in the 3rd? I thought it was early in the 3rd but whatever, this defense is going to be pretty damn good this year.

It's great being 3-0 but we have seen this before. Happy for them looking good and winning but we have been through this before.

Usually I would say you know what and that is probably what we will see again.

But I am high on what potentially Smith can do for this team.

I know the potential is still there but I am hoping the new mindset changes the overall approach.

Even in the chargers game there was three instances that wasn’t typical Steelers football:

1 passing before the half with little time on the clock.

2 passing after an interception not altering the field approach.

3 late in the game ahead by three with the ball and Herbert out, passing not snail ball.

If tendencies change it isn’t totally outrageous to think trends can’t change as well.

Right now the issue is a glut of injuries are gonna start taking their toll... CB is down 3 counting Sutton, Highsmith out, all the line injuries... we have been lucky because the injuries are hitting deeper areas of the team, but depth getting depleted this early bodes ill for later

Nah, can’t be. Tomlin sucks as a HC, doesn’t know anything or lives in his fears. It was all the Chargers being a suck *** team.
Can't be that a dominant defense continued to play extremely well against a hobbled starting QB (who was a gametime decision to start with) and a career backup.

Tomlin rulz!

I was listening to a broadcast today, I think it was GMFB on NFL Network---did you (anyone) know/remember that the Steelers' defense has only been this good (holding opponents under 10 points for three consecutive games since 1970's???

That, family, is VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!

FIRE COACH TOMLIN!!!

This D is special. Also it is deep. Great talent behind our starters so I'm not worried if we lose Watt or Highsmith with Herbig coming on. Adams at NT, Loudermilk, Leal, Payton, Robinson, Dirty red, Holcomb, Trice, Pierre, KZ, Edmunds, and we get back Sutton in 5 games. Backups are making plays and this D has been built from the ground up to be a top D in this league. Something people don't like to give credit to Tomlin and Khan for building and developing.

Did you just laugh at your own joke after having to explain your own joke?
I think you did
I have had plenty of those not funny I had to explain my jokes over time. I don’t care I still do it!😅
