Obama sent them gold bars and unmarked cash on a secret plane ride in the middle of the night. Biden freed up frozen Iranian assets. 2 weeks afterwards there were terror attacks around the world. They continue to lie about nuclear enrichment. 47 years of games by Iran and weakness from the USA. There's a new sherrif in town.
 
funny thing, for many, many years before I became "politically correct", I used the term "rug pilots" because those who knew, knew.

My guess is they figured if they killed the ayatollah that Iran would buckle. Nah, they’re just hammering the majority of the ME. Best videos I saw this weekend were Patriot missiles and Iron Dome flailing after hypersonic missiles. I think we seriously underestimated Iran.

I don't know how they could underestimate Iran. Why would Iran sell crude oil to Russia and China at deep discounts if not for acquiring bleeding edge tech weapons? Iran has been threatened by the US and Israel for decades, they knew this was coming, giving them time to bury weapons and plan for this scenario. Russia and China are loving the intel they're getting on how their collective weapons and defense systems are performing against US and Israeli tech weapons. This whole thing is stupid, just plain stupid.

What would you have done instead and what ought to be done now?
 
Is it possible that Russia and China continues to this day, to supply Iran with high-level ballistic missiles and other advanced militaryhardware/cyber defense technology?

Respectfully, I don't want to get into a deep conversation about this as I'm struggling with my thoughts and feelings on the matter. I didn't want to share this, but maybe this will summarize the root of my consternation. I feel as if my service was given to a great lie. Two brothers I served with lost their lives to a great lie. Now what? I'm supposed to cheer as these same asshats package up our sons and daughters and ships them off to yet another bullshit war to die, physically maimed/disfigured, or completely ****** in the head that if they do make it home. they off themselves to the tune of 22 per day on average.

Again, I put this out there as a statement not a conversation. No validations, please. I couldn't stomach it, frankly.

Yep. The way we left Afghanistan broke me. What was it for? We basically surrendered and ran. All those men and women died for nothing.

Many who survived are a mess physically and mentally. I have my own issues, but I’m not nearly as bad off as many are. My life is still pretty functional. But on occasion, I head to the dark places inside my mind and it’s never good. We certainly don’t need more of it.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With military operations ongoing against the Ayatollah's Islamic regime, former President Barack Obama expressed confusion at seeing bombs falling on Iran instead of pallets stacked with U.S. cash.

The former American leader reportedly told his security staff that it was strange to see news footage of explosive ordinance falling from the sky to destroy Tehran when he was used to seeing astronomical amounts of U.S. currency being parachuted into the America-hating country.

"That's not what I'm used to," Obama said. "Did anyone let Trump know that the United States is supposed to be dropping tons and tons of cash on Iran, and not bombs? Someone might want to get word to him that the Ayatollah appreciates U.S. dollars, and not cruise missiles. I knew Trump had no idea how the world really worked, but man, dropping bombs on Iran? That's not how I used to do things."

Sources within Obama's household staff said the former president was confused by the whole situation. "I'm not sure what Trump thinks he's going to accomplish with this," he reportedly said. "How does he expect to fund the Iranian nuclear weapons program and global terror network with bombs and missiles? It doesn't make sense. He's in danger of wiping out the entire regime by doing this, which is the opposite of what I was trying to do when I was in office. It's a shame."

At publishing time, Obama had also expressed confusion about the U.S. providing security to its embassy and consulate locations instead of allowing them to be overrun and destroyed by radical Muslim terrorists.

We lost our favorite nephew. It was devastating. It's not Iran, Iraq, or Afghanistan's fault. The waste of all those heroes, the pain of the survivors, is all on Biden. He is the scum here. He is a traitor.

This goes deeper than Joe Biden. He’s just the latest. We’ve been screwing around over there for far too long and it has gained us nothing but enemies and international scorn while costing us treasure and lives. And for what? What have we gained, really? I’m tired of politicians destroying lives because they want what they want. It’s time for this to end.

Me too, and to an extent you are right. But, we have gained allies there, too. Qatar, some of the UAE, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and who knows who else are at least nominally on our side. I think that they also appreciate the moxie of Trump, as opposed to Biden, or even Obama, who I think they didn't respect too much.

The policies of the past of the USA over there were bad, and largely oil company driven. I don't think Trump is that guy. With energy independence we don't really need to bow to those guys. Plus, I don't see Trump as being an oil guy. Bush, yes. trump, not so much. We have left a bad legacy too much. We have a decent legacy to build on if we do. Not sure the motivations of Washington DC are focused on that too much. Either way, if we tried, we have a lot of ground to make up for. Getting Iran to change would go a long way towards that, IMO.

Don't be surprised if Iran was to arise as a new ally as it develops.
 
It is all about oil because oil is the most traded commodity now and in world history, and it's all traded in USD.

Petrodollar recycling is hugely beneficial to US citizens. It keeps the dollar always in demand and has since Nixon and more especially Kissinger and his elf, Bush the Elder, forced this on the Saudis.

Bomma/Biden were starting to cede this, allowing the Chinese access and a railway into Iran and India a railway to Russia. Along the way, the elites have been profiteering and looting the taxpayers of many western countries.

Trump is re-establishing USD hegemony and it's standing as the Superpower. The cost in America is born by the poor and the soldier class, the benefits global and mostly accruing to the wealthy.

And in less than a couple months, Trump cut China's access to it's marginal supply of oil dramatically. They are in a bad place if they do not bend the knee and meet Trump's terms.

Trump is finishing the job that Bush the Elder and Dubya both did not. Many around the globe will cry for many years at the re-emergence of America's sole Superpower status.

Fuuck that, somebody has to lead. Far better that it's Trump and the US than the Russians, the Islamists or the Chinese.

45 years too late in my opinion. A family friend of ours was crippled for life in that rescue attempt that failed in the desert. Unsure why we've put up with the bullshit from that pissant regime this long.
