Diggs to Texans

I guess the Texans had the leverage in the deal.

I wish they would have printed what his contract was like because a second round pick next year and getting a 5 and 6 back seems like a steal.

Is he a locker room cancer because for someone of his talent it seems like the trade and the contract for him were a pretty good deal for the Texans

He has been a malcontent of late and his production dropped off considerably as the season wore on. Not to mention the Bills have to pay Allen.

once more, most Wrs are super narcissistic... and all these guys want paid 30 mil per season... supply and demand is starting to lean against the position

Yea, but they have to put up with him throwing fits. No thanks. Did you see when they stopped forcing the ball to him the Bills started to win games? Check it out. When his receptions dropped Bills started to win games. No wonder they wanted to get rid of him. Screw Diggs, the crybaby.

internet geniuises are saying that this gives us Aiyuk's value.
But we know SF won't let Aiyuk go for less than a 1st. Of course not.

so, given that and the draft value chart...

Steelers draft picks and value
1 - 850
2 -390
3 - 170
3 - 108
4 - 56
6 - 20.2
6 - 13.4

Gold Diggers draft picks and value
1 - 600
2 - 276
3 - 124
4 - 48
4 - 40
4 - 38.5
5 - 21
6 - 7
6 - 5.4
78 - 1

at best, for Buffalo - Diggs would net a 580 in the 2025 trade for Buffalo (top pick in the second round)
mid - 420
worst - 270

using mid (most likely), we can dream up this scenario
swap 1st
20. Pit - 850
31. SF - 600

loss -250 PIT
net +250 SF

add Pit first 3rd (-170)
SF nets +420

and Dan Moore

resulting in
PIT
1 - 600
2 - 390
3 - 108
4 - 56
6 - 20.2
6 - 13.4
+Aiyuk, 1187.6 draft, 6 picks

Gold Diggers
1 - 850
2 - 276
3 - 170
3 - 124
4 - 48
4 - 40
4 - 38.5
5 - 21
6 - 7
6 - 5.4
78 - 1
1,581 draft, 11 picks and Dan Moore

Gold Diggers are $7 mil under the cap right now.
this trade would give them Total Trade Savings: $10,758,000

win-win for both teams

Whoever has tge player that wants out always loses trade. DJ deal honestly wasn't that bad. Same with Pickett.

I don't get this trade for Houston. This is the kind of move you make if you think you are a contender. Houston still has lots of holes. The big winner in this deal is Houston OC Bob Slowik who will probably get a head coaching gig next year partly due to this trade and the number the passing game will put up.

Meh......I will disagree. I wouldn't have traded Pickett unless we got more. If no one offered more than ....to bad Pickett. We got you for 2 more years. The last few years lesser WRs have drawn a 1st draft pick. We got a average to below average CB and a late pick for our #1 WR. I didn't have an issue with moving Johnson....just seems our return could have been greater

I think it is a great trade for them. Gives their young QB a top target in the league. Other holes can now be filled thru the draft. To be honest I have no idea what those holes our. They did a good job kicking our ***** last season.

The last few years, as you said you are correct, but this year WRs weren't in high demand so you can't judge it against previous value. The market defines value.

Our #1 WR wanted out, in his final year collecting a pretty penny and expecting a new contract, good riddance.

Picket was already discussed too, he demanded a trade because he didn't want to compete against a 35 years old QB, good bye

This works for Houston if Diggs puts up decent numbers and isn't a douche

I get what they were going for, I'm not sure I would've taken this approach. The mold for young QBs was giving up a premium to add a young stud WR. The Eagles got AJ Brown, Dolphins Tyreek Hill, Bills Stefon Diggs, just off the top of my head. Trading a high pick for a 30-year old, eh. I guess he may have been the only receiver on the market worth getting, I just think you want a younger WR who the young QB could grow with.

Tomlin stated Johnson didn't ask to be traded. And I understand that Pickett asked for a trade. In the end it doesn't mean he has to be traded. If you get value then send him packing. Are we better with Fields than Pickett? Possibly I guess. Tomlin/Omar have now continued the practice that it you whine and complain they will move you. It was a chance for Omar to stop that trend of volunteers and not hostages.
