Speculation is he wants more money but it’s unclear. The one thing that is clear is he has some sort of gripe with the organization. I think Khan needs to get out in front of this before free agency starts. If he has to trade him it is best to do it before teams start filling holes in free agency.
 
No one here knows the depth of what DJ is doing / thinking.

If he is a problem child, Kahn needs to trade his *** NOW (as soon as he can). A 1st and a 7th or a 2nd & 5th Or 6th.

Get him out of town ASAP if truly there is a problem that isn’t legitimate. MoMoney is not legitimate. O’Canada is !!!

Would I be concerned if Pickens lined up against our defense? Definitely!

I dont think DJ is worth a whole lot via trade.
 
This is a nothing burger, do we actually know he was following Steelers social media recently? That might has happened during the holdout. His profile pic still is with a Steelers uniform.

If he really wants more money then he is delusional, he just signed an extension. I don't know, sounds like BS rumors to me
 
didnt he just sign a contract last off-season? he cant possibly say he deserves more money since he recorded as many touchdowns on an NFL field this year as Coolie did.

I read he unfollowed the team again like he did for a short period of time when he was in a contract dispute last year. I guess I don't follow him so I can't confirm or deny. This could be nothing or it could be him griping that he didn't get a TD and not a fan of this run heavy offense. The problem I have is he had 147 targets and in my book he should have close to 100 catches and around 1,100 yards with those type of targets. He had 86 for 882. I know the official stats say only 7 drops but I think that is way to subjective. I have seen in games him get two or three catchable balls he either double caught and got knocked loose or ended up catching out of bounds or didn't get both feet in. I would say that number is probably double. Pickens only had 84 targets. If you do the math if he would have had 147 he would have had 92 catches for 1,400 yards and 7 td's. I think DJ is an awesome route runner. One of the best in the league. But he isn't that fast and has stone hands.

I don't know if any of you remember Chris Taylor who was our 7th round draft pick in 2001. Guy was open every play. He was as good as a route runner as any I have seen and had ridiculous change of direction. I watched him on preseason gave vs the Vikings and he legitimately was open every single play. And not just a little. He routinely had 5-10 yard separation from his man. He was a one man show on how to set up a defender and break away to the open spot. He dropped probably 7+ passes that night. 3 right in a row from Tee Martin which all would have been huge gainers. He didn't make the team. I want to say he made the PS but was released later in the year because we needed depth at the o-line. Well, he bounced around the league for like 5 years and I remember seeing him on the Rams back when they had Tory Holt and Isaac Bruce and again in the preseason I watched him wide open and twice in a row dropped the ball. I think he made their PS but I don't think he ever played in an actual game. I guess what I am saying if he would have had average NFL receiver hands he would have been an all pro. But he couldn't catch herpes in a ***** house. It doesn't matter how open you get if you can't catch.

Reading people's posts/tweets these days truly gives me a ******* headache. Out of 5 words posted, 2 of them are grammatically correct. You've heard of crash detection: "It appears you've been in an accident. Should I call for help". These apps should have spell/grammar detection: "It appears that you are illiterate or have had a ******* aneurysm. Would you like me to correct your post".
 
I don't follow the Steelers on social media either.

Diontae would be great in the slot. The dude flat out GETS OPEN. Put stud deep threats on the outside. We have one in Pickens, if Austin isn't one, let's get another somehow.

DJ gets more deep shots than Pickens. That is just plain STUPID.
 
Maybe if he didn't run the wrong direction..........

His numbers, including his drop rate and catch% are aligned with guys that have gotten first rounders recently. Stryker thinks we would need more than a first, but I think he would be fairly valuable at or right before the draft.

Hey Stryker may be right… but as long as Hopkins is available he is the best option out there. Free agency is a total crapfest. Nothing is really available for a wr needy team

And the draft is expected to only have two immediate impact wrs.. so for a contender looking for a wr, once Hopkins goes, they are pretty hard up… it’s exactly why I thought Claypool was going to get a good value if we waited till the draft to trade him ( we got it midseason instead)

Dionte will absolutely get us a first… the issue is how to replace him… ideally the first would be high enough to net addison… but thats a hard sell… the best

Green Bay is going to offer their first and maybe their firstborn for Hopkins… they may get outbid though… if atlanta doesn’t want a qb and doesn’t think a pass rusher will help, they might be looking for a vet WR too… as will chicago… and its almost given that if chicago doesn’t want a qb, they will probably trade down and detroit is looking to move up with two firsts… if tgey do that they will have the capital to get hopkins first… tgen DJ would be the best option available

Ya know something hit me in all of this and it’s the halftime altercation between Johnson and Trubisky.
What was the dynamics with that altercation? I didn’t like reading about it when it happened and thought it was a distraction to the entire team.
Maybe it’s time to move on from him if he’s a malcontent and get the best deal now.
That would leave us thin with Pickens, Cal Austin, Steven Simms and Anthony Miller. Most definable would need to draft a WR high and bring one in FA.

Yeah--good quickness out of a break for the position.... but I don't think he has the fortitude to work the slot..
 
The reality remains that this is probably all a non story. Its still an extremely low percentage chance that he wants to be or will be moved

I’d be ok with bringing back JuJu! I think he’d be a great slot guy for Kenny to rely on.
I’m thinking KC will re-sign him though. He seems to really like that offense and working with Patrick.
