Does Roethlisberger retire or does he just leave the Steelers

I think the fact he didn’t just come out and say he’s retiring but he did come out and say this is likely the last home game. I think he’s smart enough to know not to make that decision after a long year of getting beat on. I read about his hip injury was so bad that he couldn’t even tie his shoes and had a solid bruise from his thigh to his ribs. That’s enough to call it quits for most. But come March if he’s feeling better and maybe a Sean Peyton comes calling does he answer the call? If Brady goes down would he reunite with Arians? There’s a few teams that have a need an actual coach who would play to Roethlisberger’s strengths. I’m not saying he will and I’d guess the odds are less than 10% he comes back. But I wonder if the right scenario happened would he consider it.

I almost threw up thinking of Ben in a **** stain uniform. If Ben went to another team next year I would root my *** off for him even if it was against us. It would be the greatest **** you to Tomlin and Art ll for what they did or allowed to be done to his career. with the right coach and an owner who gave a **** the name that would have been associated with the GOAT would not be Brady but Roethlisberger.

I'll save some of you the trouble of responding to this post. Yada Yada Yada not a true steeler fan, troll, band wagon jumper. awe **** it go ahead and add what you want.
This x1000! Bump this! Might be the only way to get Tomlin out of town

Ben is in the position of being a one team quarterback and Hall of Famer at that. Even if he went to another team and had mild success, it would only tarnish his legacy. They're just aren't one team quarterbacks anymore, and the fact that he's managed to play his entire career in one place, put up the numbers he has and win a couple Super Bowls... It would be dumb to mess that up.

Just heard on DK's piece with Ramon Foster that Ben is the longest-tenured quarterback with a single team in the history of the league. Eighteen years a Steeler. He's not playing anywhere else.

Roethlisberger isn't coming back.

"It’s a lot of things. It’s 18 years. It’s nearly half my life giving to this city and this team and the fans. The fun thing is that I still know I have it in the tank to go out this week and next week and give it everything I have, to do everything I can to get us into the postseason. That’s ultimately the goal, to win a Lombardi. That’s still my goal. We’re not out of this thing yet.

"The emotions will start to kick in. They already have when you think about it. I think I’m able to put those emotions on the back burner because of the focus of what we have to do to win this game. This is a team that’s hungry. It’s the Browns. It’s a division opponent. They’re hungry to get a win, too. I can’t sit here all week and be nostalgic and think about everything my career has been when I’ve got to focus on this game because this is the most important game of the season for us."

When he was asked if he would come out of retirement if the Steelers asked:

"No, I don’t think they’ll ask for me to come back. I think I’ve been here long enough."

I know that isn't another team asking, but he was very blunt about it. In his heart, he knows he can still throw the ball and compete. In his head, he knows it just isn't good enough anymore--at least not to the standard we are all accustomed to. He's not saying he's retiring because he's thinking otherwise, but because he has a no quit attitude and wants to go out a winner and not distract the team from a final playoff push.

You're the chyt/shyite/**** and don't forget that................. !!!

Salute the nation
If it wasn't for you and a few others that have been around for so long I would probably still be lurking and not posting. I use to post a ton then when we started getting over run with twits I just stopped. I'm just glad some of the ******** that ran off so many good people from the old days didn't run all of you off. grateful there are still a few like you still around that actually know what the **** they are talking about.

Odds he comes back are 1%. He's finished, it's an open secret. Thaks for the memories Ben.

It's a good thing that Ben became an NFL quarterback and not a math teacher.

Brady had the record until he left and went to Tampa.

I heard that due to the Covid rules, Ben has a year of NCAA eligibility and will be playing for Ohio U next fall. Good luck, Ben!

I mean, he has to listen if Washington or Denver or Carolina offer him 20M+.

I think Ben thinks Ben retire for good. I think it is most probably he will retire for good. That being said, Ben DOES want to win and has a lot of pride and if the right opportunity came up to make a run at another Super Bowl I can see him doing it if for no other reason than an FU to Tomlin.

I don’t think he should retire or forced to until we have a better qb on the roaster with the chuckleheads we have now that ain’t the case . The Pitt qb or the ole miss qb could be an upgrade but that’s about it. Ben’s getting all the blame for a very bad offense
