Dotson traded to Rams

He was absolute balls, outside of Green he was the worst OL we had on a roster. Now, he gets to suck on a sucky team where they'll suck week after horrid week in week out.
He had times he flashed good. Just followed that up with inconsistency. I wish every ex Steeler the best outside of when they play the Steelers.

He was serviceable, just wildly inconsistent.
Overall, like Kozora has said, it seems like a bad scheme fit and bouncing around new OL coaches his first 3 years doesn’t help.

I really think the reason I’ve like him since day 1 was his personality and probably rooted in him sitting around a room full of Steelers stuff introducing himself.

Not play based

With all the new additions and the Dotson deal, the climate in Pittsburgh sure has changed!
So when is The K. Green New Deal ever gonna happen?

The K. Green deal may have happened simultaneously with the K Dotson seal.

Green may have a chance of making the roster now.

We. Will keep 8 or 9 ol but only 7 will be active on gameday, so if Anderson or Cook or McCollum make it, tgey wont see a helmet without an injury

He may be a really good guy, but he was awful during his time with the Steelers. He was so bad that he stood out and drew my son and I's attention during games. We would sarcastically cheer him on as he got beat and stood there looking at the carnage that he created, in a bad way.

He seemed to be polarizing in that he had every opportunity to be the starter and couldn't get the job done. They weren't happy with him last year and upgraded. So the draft swaps and getting the 4th is a good deal for us. They should have sent Green too but I assume he becomes a straight cut.

Think about this… lets say we finish in the middle of the pack this year and next ( we probably finish higher) and the Rams finish roughly around the sixth worst team this year as predicted then finish in the middle of the pack next season… the two fifths cancel out and the 4th we get is worth around 90 asset points and the sixth we give up is about 23 points …

Then age Expected floor on Dotsons trade is like 65-67 points thats Higher than the value of the 4th Dallas gave up for Trey Lance…

So Dotson > mr three firsts and a third… lol

Maybe Rams didn’t want to have less total picks or Steelers didn’t like what they offered. Guessing a straight up player-pick trade would have been a 5th rounder. I can accept moving up twice over that.

We got what we got. I don’t want the depth concern to over take the value we got out of a player that will be more likely to not dress all year.

Green played the “not dress” role last year and if it was me he wouldn’t get the chance to play that role again.

I think when i did the math, the value difference was expected to be equal to a mid to low 4th rounder… that’s assuming we aren’t great and the Rams are relatively bad…. If the rams are really bad two years in a row and we are great it could have a lot higher value… and if the rams are great and we suck it could have near negligible value…

I hope like **** he is cut but with the BIG-dot being in LA, there may be a spot.

I’d bet they were shopping Green simultaneously while shopping Big Dot, just no takers on Green.

If anything, maybe PS Green, see if that gets him gone……….

It was a personal attach on you————————- J/K

I think I missed the laugh emoji

In any event, it’s easy to miss the intent while using the complicated emoji system. I’ may have to take a ”inter-web” class that allows me to send and receive mind waves from far away…….. In my Spirit World, that is easily possible, but here in this world…… not so much.

Thanks for all your humor and great post(s) along the way.

Weird trade. While I understand the value in receiving an extra pick in the 4th round (2024) and 5th round (2025), we're also giving up picks in the 5th and 6th round respectively. I would have hoped for a flat out pick for Dotson rather than this swapping stuff.

That is the best deal Khan was offered. I'm happy he took it.
