@slash,,, c'mon man,, that **** cant happen,,, im questioning this draft progam now.
I thought the same thing as I was making the picks. Apparently they got a hold of some of DIC's peyote when they compiled the rankings.

Trying to be more genuine on these mocks as a ton of the mock models have revised where players are likely to go, making the mocks more realistic. For example, a lot of the early mock models had CB Kaiir Elam available at pick 52 for a while.

Yeah. Sure. You bet. 6'2", 197 lbs., long arms, loves to hit, certainly good enough to play zone, did well in Florida's man-heavy approach. So I tried to follow through and draft without trading and targeted guys who make the Steelers better in 2022 and MUCH better in 2023.

So this would be a great draft. Steelers secondary is in bad shape. Elam is a legit 1st round, lockdown CB. Big enough to take on any X receiver, tough, loves to blow up running plays. Faalele is not going to last past pick 40, I suspect. He is amazingly light on his feet for a giant. He is so big that he tends to bend on occasion to reach down and hit defenders, but that can be fixed and I think he actually is LESS likely to do so when he faces the huge DE's in the NFL.
  • Mechie has the ACL and probably does not contribute until very late in the year if at all in 2023 but he is worth the wait for a 3rd round pick. I re-watched the Auburn game and some more tape of him against Florida and you know what Mechie does? He gets open. He is lightning quick, great cuts, good route runner, genuine deep threat. Wanna argue about what a #1 WR is? Watch some tape of Metchie.
  • I am a huge Chernal fan - big guy, run stuffer, but very mobile, will do just fine in zone, thank you. However, please, God, somebody tell Tomlin not to have him cover Stefon Diggs.
  • Van Valkenburg is a situational pass rusher, a guy who is going to be a solid NFL player. Uwazurike is a huge guy who can rush the passer as well. Van Valkenburg is probably too big for OLB, except where his role is to seal the edge and rush the passer. No dropping into coverage for him.
  • This draft addresses CB, RT, WR, ILB and DL. No help at S, yeah, got it, but cannot fill every hole in the Swiss cheese factory in one draft.

From PFN

Ikem Ekwonu
OT North Carolina State

52.
Trent McDuffie
CB Washington

84
Alec Pierce
WR Cincinnati

138.
Leo Chenal

I am so glad I am not the Steelers GM. I would go defense on every single pick every single year.

you guys on this board would do nothing but ***** at me I could see it now that thread would beat the Dri Archer thread, all dedicated to posts about how I suck.
Defense wins championships. I’d go defense every pick too lol

PFN letting a top-10 OT slip to 20 and a top-20 CB slip to 52. I like it.
