Draft Thread Round 1

Rappaport just said Lemon was on phone with Steelers and they allowed the eagles to jump them. CLOWN SHOW!!!!!!

And Dallas is dumb for not calling the steelers for a counter offer. No, just allow your division rival to get a WR.

I did not look at Iheanachor much because I thought he was an early 2nd round player and the Steelers did not have a pick in the early 2nd round. Seems like the guy has some great physical tools but is really raw. His best comp according to one site is ... Broderick Jones.

Anyone who's been around for a while isn't surprised. The HC isn't the one making those decisions and they never have been. They're good with mediocrity as long as they make their money.

He didn’t give up a sack last year. This guy has been on their radar all along. He will play guard and very good. I bet they tried to trade down and didn’t get a partner, saw the run on OLine and decided to take the best available. They missed out last year as the run happened early. I don’t see any panic here.
 
It's funny to think that they didn't have a backup plan if Lemon wasn't there. I mean the idea that they just focused on one guy and didn't have anyone in mind if he as gone is kinda ludicrous. Maybe they weren't willing to trade up for Lemon. Maybe they didn't like him enough to trade up. If he's there, take him ... if not, we take this guy.
I'm pretty sure they did more research for the draft than focusing on one guy/position.

He has the best tools in the draft for play in the AFC north. High upside but a risk as well. I would absolutely take a flyer on him.

This idea that the Steelers panic when a player is taken before their pick is rubbish. I'm sure they have their board for the first round fully set out before the start of the draft (with maybe the occasional adjustment in draft if there is a run on players in a position of need), and if a player they have their eye on is taken, they go to the next player on their board.
