Dulac-"Steelers intend to take CB in round one"

If we trade back, we will use up the clock. Wouldn't mind seeing us trade back with Titans or Browns.
Getting 2 of Titans second round picks or Browns #2 and #3.

Even if we trade back, it will be done right away. The terms would be already in place. The only question would be whether the guy(s) that the trading up team wants is still there at #25. It won't take long. Tomlin / Colbert clearly do not sit around in hopes a team will call them with a new offer while they are on the clock. As soon as pick #24 is made, the Steelers already have the next move determined.

One possible curve ball that nobody would be expecting --- Justin Simmons. Size, range and upside. Great fit to cover the Gronks of the world and clearly a position of need. Everybody seems to love the guy's tape yet I keep seeing him slotted in the 3rd round of mock drafts...it makes zero sense.

Stupid journalism. why put out what the team you cover plans to do. If it is true, you should lose all access to the team for revealing their draft strategy. If it is bogus, you look like an idiot.

The steelers under rooney do not believe in trading back out of the first round... they rather reach for a high end second rounder...it just doesnt happen

Hope the team doesn't reach for Apple. LeBeau isn't here anymore we don't have to keep drafting Buckeyes

If Steelers can get a CB, S and DT in first 70 picks they should be open to any scenario.

The top WR's and TE's are projected late first to early second, so I could see both Titans and
Browns interested in #25. Paxton Lynch could still be there as well with Browns and others
interest. If Steelers think there are a number of CB's still available when they pick, they could
consider moving back to get the extra player. Denver also could have interest in Lynch and worried
someone could snag him. I think the 1st round is going to be particularly interesting this year.

How often has the Steelers first round pick been what we expected? I'm thinking Joseph or even Neal come in to the picture. All depends on how the rest of the picks pan out there are going to be surprise picks ahead of us and possible trades so there will be at least 2 or 3 guys available at 25 we never thought would be there.

Lately, I am warming up to Joseph. They are saying he compares well to Dawkins. If he is any where near a Dawkins, and we can get at 1-25, I will be thrilled. I really don't want Apple. Everything I read says he is raw, raw, raw. I don't want "raw" in the first round. No thank you. I will be happy with Joseph, WJ3 or Billings.

The Steelers cannot afford Raw. If Ben was 28 they could afford Raw. It has to be immediate impact here. Starter by seasons end this year, big impact by next season at the latest.

Billings is the pick in the first round, watch and see!!!! Stud DT and much needed.

You are assuming he isn't part of the poker game this team loves to play (even if ineffective). He is probably just delivering the message the team wants "put out there." The fact he has come out and said they will go for Apple makes me believe that they are not. At least I hope they aren't.

Joseph, WJ3 or Billings. I would be happy with any of those 3.

Y'all welcome
