Pretty sure he played at Virginia TechOne year deal only! That’s what I thought! No team was clamoring for this guy’s services. I’m sure the Steelers could have easily topped this but sounds like they knew they needed an upgrade.
Not blaming Edmunds but he was way over drafted and could have been had later on in the draft. Never understood the reason to draft him in the first round since wasn’t on any teams board but suppose they liked his physical traits but was never that special at Maryland. This had Tomlin pick all over it as he often gets enamored with guys that have physical traits.
His play improved since he got here but really guys, he won’t be missed.
Yeah I think we posted at the same timeJust reported it in the other thread yeah he replaces their S they just lost...

Yep, stand corrected! He did play at Va.Tech! Don’t know why I said Maryland!Pretty sure he played at Virginia Tech
Your thinking of CB Sean Davis a 2nd round under achiever pick by us. He played at Maryland.Yep, stand corrected! He did play at Va.Tech! Don’t know why I said Maryland!
Clearly they could have resigned him for these peanuts. They must have wanted to go in another direction.
Someone on The Fan was saying the Steelers looked very interested in Georgia's Chris Smith, him and Branch are probably the best tacklers in the class. Smith being less athletic than Branch, but both are supposedly extremely high in football IQWith such a small contract, it shows this was a football decision for the Steelers. Edmunds is a decent player but he’s limited. I think they want a more versatile S that can be interchangeable with Minkah.

All of these OL signings in free agency are getting me worried that there won’t be much focus there come draft day.Peanuts, that’s what that is. We definately could have brought him back and respectively.
That puts added pressure for the draft. I think it has 1st or 2nd round written into it.
I just hope it’s not a “reach” A-N-D that it doesn’t stop them from the finishing pieces to the OL puzzle.!!!
I really hope they don’t pass on a 10+ year OT in search of their next, defensive star…………….. (if they hit then I’d be happy but also know at the expense of the OL and more mediocre play.)

None of that matters when we have an OC playing crayons. It is a game where Canada is blind folded. He is given an unidentified crayon color. Chewing on it he deciphers what color it is. No worries if he doesn't figure it out right away. He will just keep chewing and chewing... and chewing. Using the same basic concept over and over and over again.Yup
Tomlin thought he was drafting Tremain Edwards and was shocked when he was still on the board at our pick
Oops, he has a brother, Terrell isn’t an ILB…oh well it’s just a first rounder and maybe we can get his brother in 4-5 years. You know if there is a set of bros we’re making a play. The long game.

I fear they told Kahn/Weidl you can take trips around the bargain bin OL cast offs but the philosophy hasn’t wavered-we don’t draft OL high. Think that may be why we went to the bin 3-4 times already.
Hope I’m wrong but fear they pass on a OT for defensive weapons to reload.
Out of the three Guards they signed, only one (Seumalo) will start, the others are solid depth. I believe the Steelers are happy with Dan Moore where he is but the fact that they addressed getting Dotson out of the Starting line-up but did nothing to address Chuk's is a head scratcher. But, what if Steelers plan to draft an OT and slide Moore over? I really believe the Steelers will address the OT position with one of the first two picks. All of these OL signings in free agency are getting me worried that there won’t be much focus there come draft day.

DB, WR, LB, LB with our first 4 is trending towards my current prediction of where they goDefinitely my FEAR as well. Many here have took the foot off the gas when it comes to OL, they may be thinking we are adequate there now. I mean, come on, we did sign two players associated with the EAGLES.
I think there is a good chance of another CREED HUMPHRYs scenario happening.
AND
It’s a offensive league to top it all off.

or, since we know these NFL FOs know the players that are available and those on every other team's roster - then we can also suspect that the FA signings were indicative of already improving the OL based on whom we have rostered.
not a huge jump to make.
