Eli must wait

I can't see Ben not getting 1st ballot, 5th most wins by a QB, 8th all time in TD's passes, 6th all time in yards, 3rd all time in post season yards, he's 8 all time in post season wins, 2 SB's. He played the position different than anyone before, and he has the most 500 yards passing games ever and I think the only QB with back to back 6 TD games.

Eli is 15th all time in wins, Eli is outside the top 10 in TD's and yards, Eli has a .500 record as a QB,
The Media has an agenda against him. If they want to **** ya.........you are getting ******.

Ben also has a rookie of the year and two time comeback player of the year along with never having a losing season plus his SBs and passing numbers. what other QB in the history of they game has those credentials in totality,

And none of that matters today when selecting players to honor. Hel! the best players at their position haven't won awards in the last 2 years.

I do think that ELI is a borderline selection right now. It is a really bad time for him to become eligible, especially with the other QB's coming up in the next couple years. Does he deserve to get in, maybe eventually, but I think there are more deserving waiting already.

I don't think Eli should make the Hall. He was never a great QB and both Super Bowl wins were because of defense. That helmet catch was not some awesome throw, he just threw a ball up for grabs.

Ben is absolutely getting in. Played in 3 Super Bowls, winning 2, one of the best playmakers in the game. 5th all time in passing yards. The best throw in Super Bowl history.

Eli is not a Hall Of Fame Player. He was never even in the convo for top 5 at his position in his entire career and very rarely even in top 10 discussions. Eli was never in the same bracket as Brady, Payton, Rodgers, Big Ben, Brees, even Wilson and Stafford.

Remove the 2 Super Bowl wins and he accomplished nothing. He was a turnover machine and a mediocre QB majority of his career.

Sounds harsh but it is true.

PS

What is Ben’s greatest accolade?

I think that 13-0 as a rookie has to be pretty significant.

back to back 6 TD games, 3-500+ yard passing games, Fastest to 50 wins, come from behind wins——————-?

Salute the nation
Maybe it was that he led the Steelers to 15 Tomlinships

Tough when you start to remove actual accomplishments by players. Beating the Patriots twice in the Super Bowl is absolutely why he's in consideration for the HOF (and his last name).

If Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers were to retire this offseason, Ben Undoubtably will be fifth all time in passing yards when he is eligible in 2027...and high in a ton of other things ... he also will be third in 4th quarter comebacks and have the two superbowl wins...
Rivers is really close to him stat wise but not postseason stat wise... and as for actual winning, the guy is absolutely above the other two in his class. He is fifth all time in wins... and among QBs with at least 100 wins, his winning % is only behind Cheat Brady, Mahomes, Montana, and Bradshaw... he is also 7th all time in postseason wins...

Ben's Statistical Resume and Winning resume screams first ballot... all he is missing is the individual accolades that he didnt get because of media bias...

Eli was third place in stats and behind Ben in postseason success...

It won't matter when they start adding the "Almost" this and "Almost that stats.

Holmes was great, but Roethlisberger may be the only QB in NFL history that they wouldn't vote Super Bowl MVP for XLIII. Absolutely ridiculous he didn't win it.

Yeah, but Eli is going to win the FanDuel Kick of Destiny tomorrow, so he'll be fine.

I chose to remain positive on this one. I think he gets in first ballot. The guy was a highlight package reel. The drive. The throw. The tackle. The back to back 6 TD games. The 500 yard games. The broken nose. The multiple examples of shaking people off and making the plays. The rings.

In my book, he gets in because he used to embarrass Suggs every game and make him cry! That in itself is grounds for 1st ballot, IMO!

Not that I am defending Eli here. But if Boomer Esiason got in… Go compare the careers on Pro Football Reference.

Add in that Jim Plunket to date, is the ONLY 2-time SB winning QB NOT in the HOF.

Eli is not a first ballot and probably should/will wait some time, but should ultimately get in almost (and I know I’m gonna take **** for this) the “Lynn Swann” type selection.

I was checking out comparisons for Hines, because it drives me nuts he’s not in and seemingly getting less, not more, close every season. On career stats, Swann is WAYYYY down the list. It was his playoff acrobatics and stats that got him in. Otherwise, he’s a pedestrian WR by stats.

In both championship seasons, Eli got it done through regular season and stepped up a notch in playoffs, winning a tough road game in GB along the way, for one. He and HIS TEAM knocked off a previously undefeated Cheats*** and, until the Mahomes book is complete, the best and most winning QB twice in the biggest moment!

That said, Ben should be a first ballot and Ward deserves to be in by stats (boarder line) but the intangibles that made him a player 31 other teams/fanbases would have LOVED TO HAVE!

Career earnings of $252,280,004.
Another reason he’ll be fine. 🤑🤑
A little shy of Ben's $267,286,864 career number, but not too shabby.

And yes, Eli did win the KOD today...lol.

I said the exact same thing last night, if that were any other QB in that game, they're getting MVP. It wasn't just that throw, that drive started with a holding penalty moving back to 1st and 20 and he was under pressure that entire drive.

Ward has better stats than WR's that are in the HOF. More catches and 2 less TD's than Andre Reed, but has 2 rings, a Super Bowl MVP, then they changed the rules for him.
James Lofton, Ward has almost 250 more catches than him and more TD's, plus the post season greatness.
His stats are far better than Swann and Stallworth.
62 less catches than Andre Johnson, but 15 more TD's.
Then you have Sterling Sharpe who got in this year, no post season success only played 7 seasons.

He’s got better career numbers than Michael Irvin, with exception of yrds/rec and virtually identical postseason numbers, but Ward has the SB MVP, while Irvin has the additional ring on the same number of SB appearances.

Like I had mentioned and literally should be something considered… during his prime playing years, 31 other teams and 31 other fan bases would have absolutely loved to have had Hines Ward, no matter the other WR’s they had rostered.

Eli didn’t just play good in big games he dominated! Eli played hero ball every little kid growing up dreaming dreams of being a hero winning the big games… they don’t dream about leading the league 10 times! But… ya if they kept Ken stabler out till after he was dead, have kept LC out they are capable of anything.
