I would be on that

I hope he does it. He has the deep pockets and resources to do it. You know it would be successful too.
Eh. Trump tried. Twitter is alive and well at the moment alongside tik tok.

It’s facebook that is dying. Musk would have an easier time replacing facebook out of all social media

Oh no. That guy could do it easily. What those platforms are missing is good old fashioned competition. It's not some complex problem like saying building a innovative car company from the ground up or rockets and spaceships.

Media platforms are nothing and he has the people around him to do it. And most of all people like him all over the world.

**** I can't drive around my local area without seeing a dozen Tesla vehicles.

Competition solves the problem.

Let’s see, he has how many million followers, you know Joe Rogan would join with his mob, then it would be the “cool thing”.

Do it.
Musk and Rogan both strike me as being fairly Libertarian which I think is really the position of most Americans, whether they realize it or not.

Twitter is still a very big platform.
He can start up a social media biz easily, but as far as remaining relevant to compete with twitter or tik tok. I doubt it. Twitter and tik tok are gonna be top dawg in social media for awhile.

Most users are young. They don’t care about politics.

The Twitter alternative platform already exists. It’s called Gab. Gab is a free speech absolutist platform, you can say/post anything you want as long as it isn’t porn or a threat of violence.

There’s a bunch of alternative platforms that have failed or just attract a certain sector.
Gab, 4chan or any of the chans lol. Just as there are alternatives to youtube as well.

Twitter and youtube are established. You can get a number of followers to migrate but the majority still stick with the mainstream platforms

You fail to realize that most mindless dweebs follow the next thing. While it may take a couple years, but it happens.

For example. My daughter and her friends do not do **** with Facebook, Twitter, or instagram. They are on tic and snap. ******* wife on tic too but that’s another story.

Facebook is dying with the generation that uses it, as with the tweeter, and the like. While I’m not saying they will die like MySpace, but they will fade away while the “new cool” comes around.

Doesn’t matter. Twitter is a sewer of **** and deserves to be and will be flushed.

I don’t care what happens in social media. But to say twitter is dying is lol. Is it trash? Yes. But it’s not going anywhere for awhile.

Facebook is dead, only “boomers” use that. But twitter, instagram, tik tok and snapchat are alive and well.

Yeah but Gab sucks. The name alone, sounds like the mantra of an old women's bridge club.

I guess I should scrap my idea of "Chewthefat.com"

Eh. Trump tried.

Trump is a social pariah though, whether we like it or not. There's the hardcore faction who go to his rallies and many wish he were back in office, but it would be nothing like Elon Musk getting involved IMO.

The only thing, like you said, are the other platforms out there and their growing popularity. I think he should give it a shot in any case.

Elon Musk should give it a shot. But my point is twitter is established and isn’t dead like facebook.(time will tell). He’ll get people to migrate from twitter over to his brand if so. But would it be an impact in what you’re hoping for?

There are a lot of alternatives to the mainstream stuff.

Social media platforms are the pied pipers of our modern world. These platforms have facilitated " fake news". I consider all of those platforms garbage. I don't use any of them. Any thinking American wouldn't use them either. Most Americans either don't or won't think for themselves. Thus the reason why Social media platforms exist. The pied piper indeed.

No Gab doesn't suck. They have improved all their infrastructure and the platform runs really well.

Indeed. A generation of followers as never seen before.

SnapFaceTwitterChatGramTiketyTok is all garbage. It's taken "keyboard warriors" and narcissism to a whole 'nother level. I tell all the young 'uns around me, "Put down the phone, pick up a book. Your brain will thank you."

That was partly tongue-in-cheek. I don't doubt it runs smoothly, but the first thing (unfortunately) that should happen is that the branding (name) needs to sound catchy to the user. Just spitballing here, but something as simple & potentially intriguing as thinkit.com. Or something like reasontalk.com. I know it sounds ridiculous, and neither of those names really apply to the majority of this population, but a) they don't realize that and b) they still want to think they are that. And I looked at the layout of Gab and maybe do away with the light green highlights and make it look a little more appealing to the eye. Even give it a darker colored theme option or something that just catches the eye a little better.

I know things like that aren't important to you Ogre, and I understand 100%, but unfortunately you're a dying breed. You want substance and just the nuts & bolts while probably 90% of Americans want something completely different. And while exposing the truth of these elitist idiots is important, I don't think a platform should announce their political leanings or virtues right off the bat when you want to attract a good majority of Americans. I'm not sure if it was Ron or somebody else that said it, but the majority of Americans just want to think of themselves as critical-thinking, liberty-loving people and don't want to be labeled. Have a seemingly moderate and respected person like Elon Musk create the platform, then let the discussions begin. Everything will all bear itself out in time and we'll either continue to get the trash we get on Twitter, or we'll get a more reasonable and uncensored platform for people that actually want to look at real solutions to problems. Like I said, just spitballing here.
