I know Brian Griese played for the Bears, but that amount of homerism by the 3 announcers was intolerable! Even after their rules analysis explained the taunting rule they still acted like it was a bad call. You can hate the rule, but Marsh went over and stared down the whole bench, that is taunting in this day and age. Even their coach was yelling at Marsh not the official. There were several announcing calls like that, Fields a runner slides as he is hit and they want a flag on what is essentially a running back at that point. It was horrible.

I know all fans think announcers hate their team but this was really over the top. They kept crying about penalties but most of them were pre snap offsides calls.

It was so terrible I was just laughing by the end.

And then one of them actually said Tomlin "is one the greatest to ever to do it" or something to that effect. Almost fell outta my chair.

That Levy ******** was clueless and kept making up rules as the game went.

And then at the end when he thought he was being edgy making little incredulity comments. Die ******** on yourself you ******* ****.

I'm not sure if it's root for the dog to get an interesting game but that was ****** brutal. We just turned it down.

He kept harping on the number of penalties called on each team as if they should be even. I could maybe get it if the penalties were a bunch of subject*ve holding and pass interference calls. We’ve all seen the Pats get away with holds. But the bears kept lining up offsides. These weren’t judgement calls.

they cried about late hit on Fields. There were really only 2 possible calls. One where Fields went down very late and even their rules guy said it was a no call. The other was a possible call where Highsmith took 2 steps and put a slight hit on Fields, who the hit the ground like he was shot and played dead.

The Marsh taunting call was absolutely correct. I have seen similar calls in multiple games this year. The NFL made it a point of emphasis. Besides, Marsh was absolutely taunting. The play was well over and he is walking towards the Steelers sideline and taking ****. That is EXACTLY what refs were told to penalize, directing things at the opposing bench of being in the face of a player.

Then this *** clown tells America that the last FG hit the crossbar when it was short by like 10 yards.

That **** sucker had me seeing white on that field goal…..then they showed the other angle, and it wasn’t even close. The ball barely crossed the goal line, if that.

It was what it was. He was clearly taunting but it's still a little weak. His press conference is well worth linking if someone can. First off he looks like he should be in Jrock's crew in Trailer Park Boys. Secondly, he is talking about getting hip checked by the ref. Cmon. That simply didn't happen and had no bearing on the play. He knows what he did. Called out Tomlin etc for dumping him after a sack. Nothing to do with him impressive karate move which everyone knows is his sack dance despite the fact that I bet he has about 4 career sacks. Nor the bump.
Correction he has a total of 15 over his 8 year which is less than two per year. Which is less than Watt tonight.

that wasn't even a slide...he went backwards if he slides feet first that might have been a flag

**** them

especially on the low block called on the first TD....even after their view with the TE box showed TJ was clearly outside the box, they were like "well it was right on the line"

well **** you TJ was outside your ******* line

I work swing shift, this was my week for second shift, and they decided to have us work 9 hr shifts this week. Didn't get off until 11. Got home and couldn't get a feed so I was following on ESPN gamecast. Waited about 10-15 min for the highlights to be posted on YouTube...

I watched the "crazy ending to Steelers Bears game". And when it came time for the FG, the only angle they showed on this particular highlight was from the EZ. When he said it hit the crossbar, I looked at the way the ball bounced and was like no freaking way. So backed it up, slowed it down, watched again...I guess the crossbar is right around the EZ line?

I love my job, but today was not a good night lol

Fields was diving all night.

And while there were some questionable calls, most were right… the bears guy diving at watts legs while he was engaged elsewhere deserved a personal foul.. those are season enders if they go wrong…

The bears were committing tons of penalties… there is no even up rule… if you hold 20 times and tge other team holds once, it should be 20-1 on calls

And Watt is a game changer getting paid like a QB so he damn well better get the protection the rules afford him which are already quite few as a defender.

Dude had a bit of chicago D in his mouth yesterday. Glad the Steelers won, I wish they would’ve curb stomped the bears a new one to shut Griese’ *** up.

To hell with Griese and chicago. Oh and the Pens got the blackhawks tonight. So the B&G needs to hand that windy city place some losses this week

Weird, but I said to my wife, “that hit the crossbar, and fell short”. Not sure of why it appeared that way from behind the end zone. When they showed the side angle I was surprised how short it fell.

ESPN is the worst for both college and NFL games.
They try to create drama out of thin air on every play as if each game would suck without their dramatic comments. Add the fact that they talk a mile a minute without really saying anything and it's unlistenable.
They must be paid by the word and get a bonus for every stupid thing they say...

I caught it right away and said to the wife, “Da fuq, it was way short.”

that kick wasn't close and when the dumbass said it hit the crossbar, I thought, the only way that happens if it took a big bouce off the turf and hit it. His homerism wanted CHI to make that kick. Boz was the man last night! Take away the missed extra point.

I feel the annoucers made the win feel like a loss. They harped on the Bears penalties so much. The only one I agreed with them is the taunting one. That was stupid. The others seemed legit.

This crew is like listening to a mid afternoon college football game in ESPN2 between two non-P5 schools. It’s really a D-level production.

While Marsh's taunting was egregious (LOL), it doesn't come close to Willie Gay taunting Lawrence Timmons.
