I assume that everyone is following along with this extension of the eviction moratorium. Apparently, the CDC can just make laws now, and apparently Democrats are not only ok with it, they are basically daring anyone to try and stop them. And, I agree with the article I am posting about it, who is going to stop them? Who can? The Supremes ruled that the CDC does not have the right or the power to institute a nationwide eviction moratorium. And they are basically ignoring it and doing it anyway.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would say that the government is trying to bankrupt the owners of these properties whereby the government would swoop in and fill the void, thus beginning the end of private property. I don't own an apartment complex or a rental property of any kind, but I don't see how it is ok to protect the renter, but not the person that still has to make the mortgage payment. We are headed to a very dark place. Small apartments and government cheese for everyone.

I often find a tinfoil hat on my head.

An argument could be made that there are efforts being made to squish the middle class out of existence. This make huge government the hero and goal.

True? Not sure. Clearly false? Not so easily.

Couple this with the zoning laws they have been trying to put into place attacking the suburbs.

There is no question they are attacking the middle class. It's been happening for years. This is just another chapter.

What scares me the most is that the CDC is making the laws. That's SCARY.

You will own nothing and you will be happy.

The great reset.

is it really a crazy conspiracy theory if they say it out loud?

Personally I hope we invoke rule .308 before they make serfs out of all of us.

Supreme Court ruled against it, violates the 5th Amendment, but the Xiden Administration, like the Bomma Administration, said "F you."

Does this moratorium include business space rental? Do the guys who own the skyscrapers have to sit it out and deal with it while their tenants (law firms, trading companies, hospitals etc.) simply refuse to pay their rent?

My bet is... no. This only applies to middle class America. People who own apartment buildings, duplexes, additional homes... This isn't even socialism anymore, this is outright ******* communism.

If the "CDC" was even remotely interested in helping individual renters and the "little folk" they would put the moratorium on banks and make it so the landlords don't have to pay their loans and during that time, sure - they can't collect rent. But basically then it's the banking system that has to shoulder the burden. But you can bet ****-all they aren't going to mess with their masters.

This is getting ******* frightening. Censorship is expanding daily, the government isn't even trying to hide that they are literally attempting to bankrupt middle America and they are even essentially saying, "**** the Supreme Court, **** the law, and hey, for good measure, **** you."

I mean this is a power play to end all power plays.

The most frightening thing isn't what they are doing (which is scary), it is how.

All of the rights, rules, laws, protections that have made this nation the greatest nation ever are being thrown into the trash heap.

If you had told me when I was a teen that the CDC Director would be making NATIONAL LAWS, I'd have laughed out loud. We now live in this scary reality.

I mean Jesus. Look at the strategy here...

- We have a "pandemic" that causes people generally to feel kinda ****** for about a week.
- This same "pandemic" doesn't really kill many people and the ones it does kill are generally the elderly or the health compromised.
- Because of the "pandemic" we are going to shut down small restaurants, bars, gyms, clubs, hotels... pretty much the entire economic base of the middle class.
- Along the way, we're also going to destroy land owners who make their living through rental property.
- We'll foment rioting and racism in order to make it easier to implement martial law should things reach a "boiling point".
- We could not care less if our actions are illegal or unconstitutional. We will simply ignore the legal system. Literally ignore it.
- We'll monitor your every communication through your devices and your social media.
- At the same time, we'll censor anything your say or publish that we don't feel supports a narrative we want promoted.
- We'll create such a budget deficit that there can be no argument from any quarter against raising taxes to a ridiculous level against the middle class in order to service the debt we've incurred.
- We won't increase taxes on big business, indeed we'll HELP big business because we need them to thrive and provide basic jobs for people.
- We'll reduce the availability of private transportation, while increasing the cost associated with owning and operating your own vehicle.
- We will invest heavily in "infrastructure" (read public housing and transportation) with that huge budget deficit we talked about earlier.
- We will create incentives for people not to work at low to mid-level jobs, thus further destabilizing the middle class economy.
- All the above will dramatically hasten the complete destruction of the middle class, leaving the country a true, massive based pyramid made up of lower class labor, government employees and elite wealthy.

What's even more frightening... It isn't a law. It's an edict. It can't be a law as it's illegal. Instead it is a command sent from above the government, from the ultra wealthy who will ultimately benefit tremendously from this.

Keep in mind, American billionaires have gained over 250 billion dollars in personal net worth over the last 15 or so months. Thousands upon thousands of American small businesses are going under, millions of Americans have lost their jobs or are choosing to stay home rather than work (which ultimately undermines the economic base of the middle class) while the Rockefellers, DuPonts, Morgans et al. are getting much much more wealthy.

This is ****** up.

Again, the real story is... do all the companies on Wall Street get to refuse to pay their rent to guys like Larry Silverstein? How much you wanna bet that answer isn't just no, but **** NO!

Well it appears like the shooting will start in my lifetime after all.

My big issue is almost every single business you go by has a now hiring sign. Spirit airlines is canceling half its flights due to staffing. Restaurants are running on limited hours or closing extra days. Healthcare facilities need multiple positions, the list goes on and on...... Not sure how anyone in the govt can justify free money when there are so many jobs open

I know a guy who needs $50 to pay his rent or he might be evicted.
do you know someone like that @jitter77?

tagging in @Steeltime for ***** and giggles.

the eviction moratorium will keep people from being "thrown in the streets" during the Chinese Pandemic. So that place that someone was living in but wouldnt/couldnt pay rent for is being occupied by someone else who would/could pay rent and possibly improve their lot in life.

while the evictions are going to **** the landlords who have to pay mortgages, I do wonder how the banks are going to respond. Banks are just now being allowed to foreclose. Bankruptcies for this month 100% will out number all previous months in this country's history. That's something for Biden to embrace. Joe's Murica now.

so a landlord cannot evict, thus cannot pay the mortgage. can the banks then foreclose on that property? ultimately, booting the people out into the street?

jitter$50 would never welch on a bet to a member of Steeler Nation. Seriously, what kind of ***-licking, ****-sniffing butt gerbil would do that?

I saw a story where a landlord was out $24,000 in lost rent and his tenant bought a boat.

Can't find link at the moment, but it might be that same landlord - said she hasn't been paid a single month's rent since MAY 2020 and she's the one getting the grief for it, and they're still there!

Banks will take over properties and the government will bail out the banks (again) with our tax dollars.
Banks will turn around and offload the properties to large real estate corporations who will turn much of it into government subsidized housing.
Democrats will be okay with this because they've become Communists who hate the idea of private property.
Democrats hate corporate welfare but only to corporations they don't like.
See how that works?

unless it's THEIR private property. us plebes deserve and get nothing.

How to get around the constitution. Declare an emergency, then you can do whatever you want for as long as you want. You can apply this to anything you wish.

Who knew it would be so easy?

Thank goodness it was only 2 weeks to flatten the curve.

Somewhere right now, someone is"Falling Down"! and they're blaming the federal government.
