F-I-R-E T-O-M-L-I-N!!!

i just read, steelers are 0-4-1 in the last 5 games against team that are 8 games under .500

That’s the longest streak in NFL history.

Stein said that on his morning show today.

Some would call it historic. He holds quite a few records for substandard performance. This, points given up in consecutive playoff games, loses on Thursday night, highest percentage of loses to teams with losing records, 7 or fewer 1st quarter points in like 62 straight games, etc. But hey, never a losing season.

My advice to anyone struggling with Tomlin being our coach is to start drinking heavily.
To expect no change. To find a way to come to grips with what you see now is the best it well ever be until change. To not be caught up in the highs as it will be temporary and reveal the truth state of the team by seasons end.

Which more than likely will come to a head next Sunday night.

If they lose on Sunday Night, Mike Tomlin should be out as head coach, be it fired, resigned, traded, or set adrift on a raft.. whatever...

The steelers have underperformed for way over a decade and a half under him

Their draft picks dont develop well, their playoff performance has been horrific, their statistical performance sucks... i mean they are posterboys for mediocrity

Plus there are a significant number of late season collapses and blown division leads to point at
A 4-1 start with the Ravens sitting at 1-5, there is somehow zero surprise the Ravens have a chance to win it this week. Blowing that lead in the division the year after going from 10-3 to 10-7. Factor in that would mean 9 years without a playoff win. Not another coach in any sport would survive. There are high school coaches who would lose jobs for that type of performance.

Pittsburgh is a football town with a drinking problem.

they also have a football coach that causes drinking problems.

For this game yes I partially blame him. Yes he has played well and we wouldn’t be here without him. That doesn’t change the fact he forced the ball to a terrible receiver three times in a row. He chose to do that. He told MVS what to do directly on that last play. Watch you can see him whispering in his ear. Regardless of Tomlin Rodgers ****** up.
Who gets the blame if they fail to win a playoff game for the 9th straight season? Who is the constant?

Rodgers? The janitor? The mailman?

As we all know, it all begins with the weak, woke, owner who tolerates and accepts such mediocre results season after season.
This is simply not the same organization most of us are accustomed to witnessing and has changed not for the better.
The latest example of poor decisions not voiding the guaranteed money in Metcalf s contract.
This guys stupidity walking from the bench in game to address a heckling fan, and you want to guarantee him millions. Pickens didn’t even get to this point and they jettisoned his *** off.
He potentially contributed to costing his team a playoff spot and you’re going to reward him. That’s nuts and indicative of the entire culture change of this organization.
Art II has been a colossal failure and really needs to step down after this season.
He refuses to move on from a stale, outdated, head coach and excepts mediocre results.
These are not my Steelers and am close to moving on completely.
I’m growing more and more comfortable with our Houston Texans whose arrow is pointing upwards rather than a very tarnished black n’ gold.

I'm not surprised at all, but I bought in. Why not? As a powerless fan, what else do we have? But like I said in another thread, we are all grown men. We can handle the disappointment.

This is what I do not understand about your position. The "this team is different" people? I never said that, but again, what else as a fan do we have? Thinking maybe they could do something has got to be better than the alternative, right?
The alternative of having seen this play out now for going on 9 seasons with this Head Coach. Since the Super Bowl vs GB we have 2 playoff wins in 14 seasons. You can buy in all you want, but I'm not and can't get excited about this team until Tomlin is gone.

I have already stopped putting money into the NFL, won't go to a NFL game even if the ticket is free. Have not spent 1 dime in years.
That to me is the extent of what I can do.
I will still cheer on these guys cause I am a fan. That's what I do.
I know a loss this Sunday would somehow be better for the team long term, but I just can't hope for a loss.

I know that. I wasn't excited, just hopeful. I just thought maybe, finally maybe, after the "Fire Tomlin" chants he'd lose some of his arrogance about doing everything his way.

But my point is there is only one thing we can control as fans, and that is our attitude toward the team. If they play better I'm gonna hope for more. I don't give a shiit what happened in the past. To me it's better than being doom and gloom. I actually think that is the least delusional approach.

What makes you have a good attitude towards the team with him as coach though? It's not doom and gloom, it's i've had my hopes up before, I had a good attitude toward the team, and then I've witnessed some of the worst playoff failures in NFL history(no team/coach has given up as many points in 6 straight playoffs as we have), the only HC to go this long without a playoff win with the same team is Marvin Lewis, Tomlin has gone 5 seasons, now 8 seasons so far without a playoff win. Outscored something like 73-7 in the first qtr of the past 6 playoff games (that shows they aren't prepared) Then you look at the games individually and the stupid crap/schemes we show up with? I think it's delusional to put any faith in this team under Tomlin.

If we had any control I could see that mindset. Its not delusional because it doesn't change a damn thing in my life if they win the Super Bowl or get killed by the Ravens next week. Neither result pays my bills. Delusional to me is a wrong mindset with something that does impact your life. Therefore I just try to approach it with a more positive mindset. Also, if it does go bad, I can handle it. I slept like a baby last night.

I slept like a baby as well, because I fully expected that to happen. It doesn't change a damn thing in my life either. It's actually turning comical watching Tomlin fail over and over and listen to everyone(not necessarily you, but the media) try to bail him out year after year.

Assuming they make the playoffs. If they fail to win this year with a home game or at the very least be competitive I would, as I have said, not pick up Mike's option. He would then have a hard choice to make.

The blame though ultimately.... the mailman for sure.

No way. I have been a Steelers fan since before Tomlin, and I will be after he is gone. He's a clown, and I wanted him gone since 2010, but I'm not letting him be anyone else take me from my Steelers.

They won't make the playoffs. The rats do.

Are you blaming the mailman for the neighbor having a surprise kid sister, or???

I’ve been a fan since I was a stupid kid around early 60’s. You talk about bad times, holy crap they were bad times. There were some decent seasons with QB Bobby Layne and HC Buddy Parker but for the most part bad, real bad.
I won’t abandon the Steelers but I may take a break until *** clown Tomlin is gone.
I’m just worn down and have no hope every season.
I’m just frustrated and tired of the same crap every season.
Did you catch what ******* Tomlin said after the game. I quote, “I thought we played pretty well today”. WTF is he talking about!
I’m just tired of the clown show year in year out. Same thing next year trust me.

As a fan for longer than most of you have been alive, I hope I'm wrong.

But the Steelers will be crushed on Sunday night, Renegade will be booed once again, fire Tomlin will fill the stadium and absolutely nothing will change, wash, rinse, repeat.
