In case you hate our 1st round pick, I thought that some positive views on Max might make you feel better.

Pre-draft, Yahoo draft expert Nate Tice had his dad Mike Tice, the former OL coach, in to discuss the top OL. They did this last year and Mike Tice tagged the OT that KC picked as his guy and that was looking pretty good until he went AWOL.

Both of them ranked Freeling as #1 and both had the Miami RT as 2nd except that they feel he projects as a guard.

Both agreed on Max Iheanachor as the 3rd or 4th best OL overall in this class. They had his ceiling the same as Freeling and well above the rest. They love the growth considering he has only played football for 4 years. Nate had a true 1st round grade on him and he was #11 on his big board.

Interesting that Mike Tice said "the first thing I would do with him when we get to mini camp is move him to left tackle" (55:26). He also said that he was the most explosive guy out of all of the OL they'd watched.

I do think the draft room wanted Lemon, but got sh!t on by Jerr-a Jones! I personally believe that was a stick it to coach McCarthy thing, but oh well. I believed Max was their next best need. I think Max has HUGE potential for just that reason. This truly gives us a legitimate reason to get away from high expectations of Jones. Not the sexiest move, but a good pick regardless!

The more I'm seeing of how fast he can move his feet, the more I like him. Broderick, as much as I love him, was a mess when it came to balance and footwork when they were coming at him.

I don't hate the pick. It's that I don't love the pick. It's that I got the 7th picked tackle in round 1 when I think we had other needs that we could have taken with better value. And it's the fact that in the jewel setting and breath taken view of my city was replaced with what pretty much was Rooney depantsed publicly by the Eagles.

I’m sure the young man is a good player and will develop into a very good starting OL.
I think the Yinzers were just totally underwhelmed with the pick as the WR Lemon would have been the much more exciting pick. The Yinzers needed a big splash and expected it so you could feel the air leaving the room when Philly punked Omar.
Oh well, we shall see!

I don’t blame the Eagles..

I don’t blame the Eagles.. I blame Jerry Jones, the Cowboys owner for a gift he gave to his biggest rival with that selection…

You just don’t do that with your main rival in your division .. not in the first round of all places!

My dislike for the Cowboys and Jerry Jones has just hit top end…

Although ultimately it might end up being a blessing in disguise..

Totally agreed! Not an Eagles thing, more of a Jerr-a thing! He wanted to "F" with McCarthy....task accomplished. Personally, think we might have dodged a bullet with "Lu Lu" Lemon! Jordan Tyson would have been a much much better get. Good luck Philly.

The bigger issue here is what this league, and GM/Owners are doing. Who in the "F" does inner division trades? That sh!t never used to happen! Man, I was hoping Big D got better, but screw them. I hope the F'Eagles crush them in that division!

I don’t blame Jerry, I thank him for saving us from ourselves. The Eagles can have that head case to replace the one they have.

I would have picked the safety Thieneman or the WR Concepcion. That said, we needed an OT and we got one.

Now some of the major services are projecting us to take Nuss at 53. Please, no! What's the fascination with these little, weak QBs?

Take a WR. Boston and Bernard could fall to us at 53. After that Brazzel and Bell early in R3.

Take a CB. One of Hood, Cisse, or Scott should be there at 53.

S? Haulcy might be there. There's a reason to trade up...McNeil-Warren will go top 12 in the 2nd.

Obviously the FO did their homework and know more than us armchair GMs, coaches and window lickers...

We CANNOT wait until 53 for Germie Bernard - we need to move up to 43 to get him...

The smoke was at tackle so once Lemon was stolen, the position made sense. I’m just worried about having another project.

I think there may also have been a fleece a division rival aspect to it. The 2 fourths Philadelphia gave up was over the odds compared to other similar trade ups.

I have been watching Steeler drafts for many years. When I was younger I would get all hyped up about a draft only to be let down a few years later by poor or no performance by the draftee (especially in the Tomlin era).

This draft so far has been one to fill needs. Not spectacular or exciting but that's okay.

Our Number one pick is an OT. Sadly it sounds like Broderick Jones is questionable this upcoming year if not lost for good. We filled a hole in the O line.

Our Number 2 pick somewhat answered the quest for another WR.

Our Drew Allar pick is interesting. Not a PSU fan (hear the BOOS now) but I really respect this young man hanging in there with his injury and the whole James Franklin circus show. I have a feeling that this might be a choice to prod AR to fish or cut bait sooner than later. Hard to live through another preseason of Aaron Rodgers drama. Time to move on. I realize that Mason Rudolph is the only QB with NFL experience on our roster but our future does not need AR.

I like the guard from Iowa. He has that crazy charisma that Stiller fans thrive on.

I think the pick of Dunker makes it clear Jones is unlikely to be extended. If it was just Iheanachor added, once Jones was proven healthy I could see one of the tackles being moved to guard, but you don't draft a third round guard as well, if you're going to do a wait and see on Jones neck.

Just conjecture but I think Mike didn’t like what he showed on tape overall combined with his injury risk. Did they want him to invest more money into that? Then we got their answer.

A good deal is a good deal, main rival or not. If the Ravens offered the Steelers this year’s 3rd round pick and next year’s 1st round pick for the Steelers 2nd round pick, would you want them to turn it down?
