Can’t fault the kid for looking out for self. Especially if he ends up playing like **** and this is his last chance to get some guaranteed $$$.Greedy Buckeyes...could have stayed here and been better off!!!
Plus, if the Steelers wanted him enough, the contract wasn’t prohibitive … they could have matched it easily.
On a side note....it's good to see @SteelBuckeye and @Omar10213245 on the site today...

That was 5 million per year less than i thought he would get... he wanted to play with G Wilson, I guess...
Let's be objective in the time left we have before the news breaks...
Pros for Russ - knows Coach Smith's offense already; played 3 years w/ DK and has a good chemistry built w/ George; he also wasn't Drama Russ so I'm good with these building blocks and Dan Moore Jr. is gone so I expect the new young OL to be much better.
Pros for A-A Ron - quick release and still has top tier zip when he's standing upright
Cons for Russ - short and lacks mobility/escapability - fumbles at the wrong damn time
Cons for A-A Ron - bad teammate; over 40 years old; bad teammate; his name is A-A Ron; bad teammate; achilles injuries don't magically go away---he could pop another one or the same one

Fields always did have issues with decision making.
He survived the dysfunctional Bears only to pick the Jets. Wow. The Jets who couldn’t win with Rodger, Devante Adams and Garrett Wilson. The Jets who decided firing their only top line coach Robert Saleh was a good idea.
I knew there was a real possibility Fields left for a big offer elsewhere but I figured he’d also want a stable situation. Jets have a rookie HC Aaron Glenn.
His deal is 2 years $40 Mill and 30 guaranteed so it’s not like he broke the bank. Darnold got 3 years 110 and 55 guaranteed.
I’m not rooting for Fields to fail but he certainly set himself up for it. No sympathies when it falls apart.
