The Pittsburgh Steelers signed former Buffalo Bills cornerback Levi Wallace when free agency began. He primarily is the replacement for cornerback Joe Haden who hit free agency after not receiving a contract offer from the Steelers.
The market has been pretty quiet for Haden so far in free agency. It’s been like that for a lot of the higher profile corners that are beginning to age. Chris Harris Jr, AJ Bouye, and Xavier Rhoades all remain on the market. And that isn’t even all of the names you’d know and wonder why they’re still available at this point if you looked at the list.
There has been some chatter lately, specifically by Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette who was asked by a reader if the Steelers still had an interest in bringing Haden back. Dulac’s response was simple. “Yes, and it’s possible.”
But it appears like the Buffalo Bills could eventually emerge as a possible destination for Haden. Recently signed linebacker Von Miller said he’s been recruiting Haden to join the Bills.
Miller said he helped recruit Odell Beckham Jr to the Los Angeles Rams last season after Beckham was released by the Browns.

It’s likely that Buffalo is going to be waiting until after the draft to see if they still need a cornerback. Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane said he hasn’t discussed Haden with Miller. Aside from that, no other hints were given at a possible signing.
Haden is coming off of an up and down season for the Steelers. He missed a few games with an injury, and COVID-19, but he still started 11 games. But his production was way down. He had 6 pass break ups, 1 forced fumble and 0 interceptions for the third time in his career. The last time he had 0 was in 2015 when he only played in 5 games.
Haden did author a game winning play against the Tennessee Titans towards the end of the season to keep the Steelers playoff hopes alive. The Titans were attempting to convert a late fourth down play inside the Steelers 11 yard line and Haden made the tackle just short of the first down.

“I mean that’s football. You want to put the best team forward,” Miller said. “We definitely talked about Buffalo, we definitely talked about him coming here, I don’t know what the hold up is.”

“Theres one thing I won’t do, especially like with my friends. If if I don’t like something you know, I’m going to tell you. And here in Buffalo it’s it’s not much to not like other than like the snow,” Miller said. “Everything else is nice especially the facility, the coaches, everybody that makes this thing go. I’ve been impressed with these guys.
