so this was a huge leap forward towards the energy source that makes everyone happy … promised long before doc ock tried it in spiderman 2, this is the biggest hurdle to fusion energy…. This, not solar or wind is the kind of green energy that theoretically could produce fossil fuel levels of power on demand the way we need it with few environmental concerns….

This is all well and good, but how is it going to pay for all of the expensive , useless social welfare programs in the Green New Deal?
Nah the real question is how do all the politicians and energy companies investing hand over fist in wind and solar bury this so they don’t lose profits….

That's wonderful. Now how are they going to get rid of all the subsidization of renewables like solar & wind and then get places like India and China on board?

I wonder how many politician's family members are starting new energy companies today.

Naw man, Wile E. Coyote had that stuff invented a long time ago.

They are gonna need more Flux capacitors

first they need to have the dimwitted kin of politicians start fusion companies, then those politicians buy stock in them, then they give them huge government contracts.

Interesting and thanks for posting, insomniac. The tremendous advantages that fusion has over fission include:
  • Readily available fuel - water is particularly adapted to fusion and indeed, the average lake has more potential energy than can ever be used.
  • Almost no radioactive residual byproducts from the process. Fusion releases helium, an inert gas, and some radioactive tritium, but which has a short half-life.
  • No chance of a "meltdown" or release of highly radioactive materials since the fusion reaction is not a "chain reaction" and once the magnetic shield fails, the process simply stops.
But I am worried that the group which developed the incredible magnets that allow the energy-gaining fusion reaction may not have been diverse enough. I think we should tear down their research until a sufficient number of BIPOCABCDEFG have been part of the team.

You know the imbeciles trying to make the giant lithium battery farms are ******** themselves when this came out… the way they can do that now has a short battery life, the way they can do it that is more effective has a huge explosion risk and every way is very harmful to the environment… plus tgey will burn through lithium deposits like a hot knife through butter…

that was going to be ruled ok by the environuts because it would sort of make green energy a little more controllable… but fusion would kill that so fast its not funny

they sell their stocks, then tax the ever-loving **** out of the populace for using it.
simple
