Game Balls, Game Goats & FU's............week 13................vs Bills

To stay consistent to my response last week, this week, instead of giving myself an FU for watching this nonsense deep into second half, this week, I give myself a game ball!!! I leisurely watched the first half while preparing dinner, a pot of sauce, meatballs n sausage. We sat down to Sunday sauce as halftime commenced and finished up just about when the Bills strip sack/TD occurred, at which point I turned the game off and enjoyed the rest of my time Steelers free. Caught final score this morning!!!

Sad to see the talent of Heyward and Watt just being wasted!!! To think the Browns n Myles Garrett WILL enjoy more playoff victories than Watt! His talent deserved better!

Only way that doesn’t happen is getting rid of Tomlin and building off some of the solid talent Kahn has put on roster, Tomlin is further wasting!

The youth and potential talent of the O line, with prospect of a franchise QB and hopefully a quality WR to pair with Metcalf, as well as Porter, Harmon, Black, Elliot, to build a D around, gives some hope for a future, with a new head coach vision. Sadly, that’s probably a pipe dream, though.

GameBall - Boz he didn't suck
Goat - Heyward looking like a giant baby. Tomlin for lack of everything XO wise.
FU - Tomlin just refusing to correct obvious issues that don't seem to be rocket science

The thing I don’t understand is how this team managed to look against Indianapolis vs last night. I understand you’re going to have a couple stinkers every season, but the Steelers do this crap multiple times every year. Just Jekyll and Hyde. Every week it seems. Our team has multiple personalities.

Indy has been down trending but I honestly feel they took us lightly. Bills was always going to be a tough game, but we have no sense of identity on either side of the ball. Under LeBeau we set to stop the run and we did. Now it's just a mess of alignments that offenses can audible to counter. I also think we get pass rush heavy and lose containment. We had unselfish guys like Aaron Smith who would set the edge and let the LBs clean up. Now we don't have that. As good as TJ is my biggest knock has been he leaves his side wide open. First play yesterday TJ flew in and Cook went around the edge and nobody was there. Watt said on his presser that he never saw a team run the same thing over and over so much. We simply do not adjust.

The difference is Josh Allen is an elite QB and Daniel Jones is Daniel Jones. 6 turnovers for the Colts and while the Steelers did a great job stopping Taylor, the Colts tried to lean on Jones too much in that game.

I want to give a shout out for Washington. They didn't throw much his way last week or in the first half of this game. They did start throwing to him in the 2nd half and he was a beast. They even threw his way in the middle of the field. Each reception came with YAC and Washington plowing over defenders. When he gets the ball and starts up field, one guy will have a very difficult time bringing him down. It usually takes 2 or 3 guys to bring him down.

They have to continue to have him in the gameplan. They should also get Muuuth involved. Smith can sit on the bench.
