Tomlin's been bashed to death so I'll just make a few points about him and move on. It should be obvious to anyone that Tomlin is thin skinned. Obviously, he listened to all the criticism from last week about not running the ball enough in the red zone. It was almost as if Tomlin was saying "**** you" to the fans for pointing it out. Sorry but the Steelers can't have a coach that is so petulant. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but that's sure what it looked like. They go from throwing it every down in the RZ to running it every down in the RZ. Tells me one thing for sure... this team has no identity. Might as well put a bunch of plays in a hat and pulling one out. Being out coached by a nobody first year HC in his 5th game. Makes me think that if they had played the clowns in the 2nd game they'd have lost it.

I know Rooney isn't going to fire anyone mid-season. I don't believe that Tomlin will be fired after the year either. So that means Haley must go and LeBeau should retire. I love LeBeau because without him the Steelers still have 4 SBs from the 70s. This team needs a OC like Whiz that builds on the run and does play action passing. Kind of like the clowns. Cowher and Whiz were perfect for Ben. He needs that again. Now to the players:

1. Ben didn't play well. Obviously. However he's still a good QB but he needs structure and better weapons. Ben isn't like Brady or Manning. He isn't going to carry a team but he can win if given the right circumstances.

2. Worilds is exactly the type of player I said he was last year and during the offseason. Horrible decision by the team to tag him. All the off-season fluff pieces about him working hard and how great he is going to be are just that.. fluff. He's played a ton over the years and he is what he is. He needs to go by seasons end.

3. Timmons is lost. I don't care about his big hit 5 yards down the field. Go watch the TD run by Tate. Timmons is looking at the QB while the RB is plowing into the EZ. He needs to move back to his mac position.

4. Archer- **** me. I can't totally blame him because he isn't running it out of the EZ without permission. This is on the coaches. However, after all the **** I heard this off-season, he isn't what most thought he'd be. He isn't the mismatch most thought. Like I said before the season, speed isn't everything in the NFL. He goes down way too easily.

5. Allen is drastically over paid. It appears as if they are trying to make up for letting Lewis leave.

I know this is long but just one more thing. Drafting has been bad since Tombert was put together. They have not replaced the talent they had before. Outside of a 6th round pick (Brown) they have done jack **** during the draft. They have some decent players in Bell, Pouncey and Decastro but overall they are below the line. Something has to be done.

Here, I fixed it for you:

Your correction means one of two things:

1. Tomlin agrees with Haley's gameplans and gives him full reign to call what he wants, when he wants, even when it fails to work for years at a time.

2. Haley refuses to listen to Tomlin's suggestions for adjustments, and Tomlin is powerless to rein him in or fire/replace him, making Tomlin possibly the least-powerful head coach in history. I can't imagine another eight-year head coach who's not allowed to influence gameplans OR marshal his own coaching staff.

Ok, so you get rid of Tomlin, keep Haley, and everything is A-ok with this offense? Got it.

It's implied that if you fire Tomlin, Haley would go as well. In fact, I think the implication is an entire new staff. I think the only coaches you keep are Munchak, Saxon, and maybe Lake.

For someone that thinks so highly of themselves you aren't very bright. Nowhere in my post did I say anything like that.

Well, Tomlin was the one who publicly "wished the Steelers had run more" in Jacksonville, and the Steelers, just by coincidence I'm sure, attempted their most 1st quarter rushes in 10 years in the very next game. Just saying,

Regarding Worlids, I'm somewhat wondering if he's been playing hurt. He did have some health issues in the preseason, and he doesn't look near as quick as he did last season, despite not appearing any heavier.

Timmons is Timmons. His play/ball recognition has always been hit and miss.

I don't think highly of myself at all. Evidently, I know nothing about football.

I was thinking during that first quarter that Haley was calling run plays out of spite. It seemed pretty obvious. Yeah, they were getting yardage, but it still seemed like a big FU to the media and fans. Once they got inside the 10, would not a play action pass have made some sense? Maybe on the second drive, start out with play action? No? Ugh. For an NFL coach to call plays out of spite rather than based on the situation - wow, that's just messed up. Before this game, I had been clinging to the notion that Haley might not be the worst OC in football, but now I'm afraid I was way too optimistic.

And much as I hate to say it, LeBeau needs to go too. I appreciate all he's done for this team, but it's time. I would like to see all three (Tomlin, too) leave by the end of this season. If they were to make a change in-season, Haley seems the most obvious and easiest to replace.

Defense is the weak link on this team. They have to protect that Defense and run and chew clock. Cleveland sucked against the run and were without a significant part of their dline and lost another lineman over the course of the game. 5.yds a pop at one point. So its easy to understand why they ran so often............but to a flaw (cuz they didnt mix it up for the big play)...and we needed BIG PLAYS.....

I agree with the original post - and I would add: Cut Cam Thomas this week. One of the many has-been, 'wonderful' free agent, signings who could not make it on a team much inferior to what the Steelers used to be. Actually, all the free agent signings are of the same ilk, with maybe the exception of Mitchell. But I think Thomas is the one who hurts the defense the worst of all the free agents - seeing a large man like that just shoved around is sad.

Kyle Shanahans play calling was far far better than Haleys. That kid will be a head coach some day.

The defense is weak however the offense scored 3 points against one of the worst defenses in the league in PPG. They were giving up almost 27 PPG until yesterday. I don't care about that last TD in mop up time. The offense only scored 3 points when it counts. That's horrible.. absolutely horrible.

Does Worilds even have a sack this year? He better not be on the team next year unless its for $3 million or less per year. Enough of this signing someone to a butt load of money because we may not be able to find anyone better. If they aren't worth the money, they aren't worth the money. Don't overpay just because you think they are the only option out there.

If I'm Tomlin, I'm announcing Haley's firing tomorrow at the presser, with - I dunno - Munchak taking over as OC and also announce that Keith Butler will be taking over as DC with LeBeau moving into an advisory role. Something to shake things up, it cannot go on like this. If Tomlin is unwilling to make a move, then I hope the Rooneys can his ***, and make these moves for him. And yes, I am calling for this right here and now, not after the season...

Pretty much agree with it all.

Tomlin's just not doing much, if anything, of anything. I hope he got that jersey exchange under control. It was obviously the most concerting event of the season thus far.

LeBeau needs to retire. Haley's only keeping his job as long as his wife puts out.

Bring in new blood.

Gus Malzahan *Auburn* (currently $3.85 mil annually) should be getting calls.
so should Bob Stoops ($5 mil annually)

$7-8 mil. first one to take it.
clean house.

This post is useless without pictures

Those guys are not the problem. Tomlin started this **** slide and he owns it. Arians looked like **** while here. Tomlin is the guy that has the most opportunity to **** things up and he has.

Tomlin was preaching the loss was a lack of execution. Week in and week out for almost 2.5 years now, we have had these issues:

Bad play calling. Bad game plans. The team is not ready to start the game or start the 2nd half. No in game adjustments. Lack of execution.

Well, guess what, coaches. All of this still falls on your shoulders - even execution. You can blame a game or two on lack of execution but when it is going on 2.5 years of it, it is all on the coaches not getting the team ready for the game. Tomlin, Haley and LeBeau need to be on the hot seat as of yesterday.

Does anyone see a difference between this offense and the one we had when BA was here? Seriously, the offense looks no different, Haley in may said they were going to use the no huddle a lot, but we never see it. Tomlin has a ton of in put in the offensive scheme and play calling

I actually think the offense is worse, or at least considerably more dysfunctional, under Haley, and that's not intended to be an endsorsement of Arians at all.

Despite the issues, at least the QB was happy and not continually expressing frustration and contempt toward the sideline each Sunday.

He was happy went he wasn't hurt. The production is just about the same. Just because Haley sucks doesn't mean BA was any better. BA's offense had the exact same problems.
