Game Thoughts

Who has the better "D", the ratbirds or the CHEATRIOTS ??? We hung 31 yesterday and is that enough to beat the cheaters??? Not getting ahead of anything but we were pretty impressive considering who is out / hurt. If the CHEATRIOTS make it far enough to face us, I think we are the one's to continue on in the SB run. **** the cheating bastiges with a "RED" hot poker.

depends on if you still think that team is cheating or not.

I do, so from the perspective that they are still cheating the cheatriots D are usually in a better position to make a play.

I thought our d gave up too many yards in the middle of the field on short pass plays. They bit on every fake eatly in the game too.

Yeah, you would think they might figure out how to cover the tight end after allowing short and mid-range gains on curl patterns again and again, but it never happened. And Bud Dupree really hasn't been impressive to me, especially rushing the passer. Yeah, he had a sack...when he was blocked and Flacco pretty much ran right into him in the middle of the field. Also, he completely gave up on the play where the Ravens took the lead late. Just stood there and watched while #44 was breaking Mitchell's tackle. Fortunately, that weak-*** effort gave the Steelers the extra time needed to score at the end. Otherwise the linebacker play was fairly solid. And I don't know who the hell #62 is, but he induced a huge holding call on the Ravens which helped to stall a drive in Steelers territory in the second quarter.

Great job by Ben at the end. Thought the o-line played well, but Ben helped them out by stepping up in the pocket effectively on several occasions. Had me worried there after those two God-awful picks. And obviously kudos to Brown for his huge second half and the play of the year.

Um, the Patriots lead the entire league in fewest points allowed, 236. The Ravens are at 294.

Rodney Harrison on SNF before the chiefs broncs start was asked what team the Pats needed to fear or be worried about. Without hesitation he said " The Pittsburgh Steelers".

Said Bellichick has a lot of respect for Ben and what the Steelers offense can do.

I think the Pats are y beatable....if we/they get that far of course.

funny how that is huh

almost like they know the plays before they happen

Or maybe they just play good bend-but-don't-break team defense.

All you dudes bitching about the Patriots bending the rules have to realize that it's 2016 now, they're still the best team in the league, and by far the biggest obstacle for the Steelers. They don't have to cheat.

never had to cheat everytime they were caught

but yet did enough times to make me think it hasn't stopped

The thoughts here are entirely predictable - Ben sucks, Ben isn't elite, Defense wins championships

boring

I find other teams boards so much more fun to read these days

Go Bengals

Defeat is about to consume them and spray their name out it's *******?

LMAO this line is GOLD, golf clap for the author!

Beat me to it. The Cheats have a pretty good defense this year. Upside for us, they're playing without Gronk so that gives us a chance.

Yeah, but they're cheaters. :0

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens made NFL history during Sunday's thrilling Christmas Day showdown.

According to Steelers Public Relations Director Burt Lauten, Sunday's game between the AFC North division rivals is the most watched regular season game in NFL Network history, as 14.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the Steelers come back from a 20-10 deficit to defeat the Ravens, 31-27.

Thoughts on offense. To beat the better teams, we need Rogers and someone else ( James, or Green ) to make their plays when called upon. They did it yesterday. Ben, Brown and Bell can win games. Each of them made the type of plays that did.

Thoughts on defense: The pass rush and coverage to prevent big plays is better, but we lack the middle and short type of coverage.

Special teams. Boswell needs to do better on kickoffs, and he will. Berry hasn't been as good. The return game is average. Kick coverage decent.

Coaching. Why does the offense get so conservative and seem to need to be down points to open up?

Fans. I felt they were a little too quiet after our first touchdown to too long of a period.

Couldn't disagree more. I was at the game and it was loud and crazy til the final play.
I've been to a good amount of games and was by far the loudest and one of the most intense games I've been to.
Tunch and Wolf also said it was one of the loudest games they've heard in a long time.

Wouldn't a 'solid coach' have put together better talent?

they are handcuffed for overspending on the brow

and going thru a roster turnover due to age

yet continue to win

some times rebuilding takes time or not?

I saw that TD play like 5 times and was also wondering why dupree just stood there watching. My best guess is that he didn't want to tackle from behind to avoid pushing him forward.

What's wrong Ravens fans? Couldn't facemask Antonio enough to keep him out of the endzone? Sour grapes for the Purple Crows. Caw, Caw, The refs always **** us. Caw, Caw, Steelers Cheat. Caw, Caw, Flacco is elite.

Suck a Steel rod and enjoy watching your favorite team to hate in the playoffs!!

He rose up to the moment, but starting material? That will take a lot more shown. Rogers might have starting potential. The coaches needs to break out the green bay and New England tapes to see how best to use him as they have similar players.

My vote for the most improved player on offense? James. He's doing much better as a blocker.

He rose up in multiple moments. In the biggest game of our season, making his first active roster. Without him, we would have lost yesterday.

This is no more of a leap than saying Davis is going to be a poor NFL player, or Chickillo is a legit starter (though I do see promise in his ability if he gets stronger).

Except I make assessments by watching actual games as opposed to reading a single preseason practice blog...

I agree about James. He is an NFL caliber starting TE.

I HOPE Ayers gets another hat this week and turns in an improved upon game. He stepped up or should I say "next man up" big time. Coolie deservingly so, should be excited, shower house or not.

Since the SB win. 8-8, 10-6, 5-11 and now either 8-8 or 9-7 missing the playoffs two years in a row. 5-11 .....

I'm under the impression that this does not indicate solid if never having a losing season while rebuilding a team isn't good enough. How can a 5-11 season indicate anything remotely "solid"? Or, "continuing to win", for that matter.

How many years did Tomlin miss the playoffs?

So you are saying a coach who beat the Steelers three out of the last four isn't a solid coach?

hmmmmmmmm

Ayres had 14 snaps last game. I will bet it will increase this week.

I hope so, as it would be smart to see what more he could provide.....

I like the kid.....

I'm not looking at a few games. I'm looking at the totality of results. And.....the biggest game of those 4 is the one he lost. Big ****, they won both last year. They finished 5 and ******* 11. Wow. But, hey, he beat the Steelers who, apparently, have the shittiest possible coach who can't put talent on the field.

I guess, he is "solid" in that he is not a liquid or a gas.....
