Tomlin's praetorian guard in the national media is already mounting his defense. Listening to Pro Football Talk on Sirius right now, the narrative so far is that it's all on Rodgers and Tomlin did the best he could and the fans were mean to boo him a few weeks ago and did that affect him?

After every other playoff game they talk about if the coach should be fired, including the Eagles and Packers.

I've seen enough conspiracy theories come true the last 5/6 years to not totally dismiss the thought that there is a national media narrative directed by the NFL to defend Tomlin at all costs.

Same thing on ESPN. He doesn’t build the roster, he doesn’t have a QB, he gets the most out of a terrible roster every year, blah, blah. Do these people watch any Steelers games? Especially the playoffs?

It is up to fans to make their presence known by altering the money coming in their pocket and anyone affiliated with them.

Constantly also voice their displeasure through social media, at games, turning the TV off, etc.

If enough fans take a stand that could say decision making.

How in the world do they call out other coaches and say it’s time for a change for every other coach with this type of resume but not Tomlin?

Agenda. They all have some sort of an agenda…outside of truth reporting..

And a lot of those excuses are not even valid.

A coach who has been with a team for an entire generation doesn't have a significant say in roster decisions? OK

The QB excuse might have some validity, but people tend to forget how the team fell flat relative to expectations during the last decade of Roethlisberger's career.

Also, does anyone have any confidence in Tomlin's ability to develop a young QB?

It would take a certain amount of illicit substance consumption to believe that.

Watching the stadium empty say tons more than ESPN screamers and stokers.
Time for a change, same thing year after year. Look good one game never played football in the next.
Last few years Tomlin brings in players past their prime trying to put a big brandade on the weakness of the team, same results players cant stay on the field , their age shows up. Yes, we win a few but how many years we have the part of season we go on a stretch of losing more than winning. We have tried how many QB'S same results middle of the pack winning season Tomlin is great.

Ok I am gonna take pre super bowl era George Halas in his post mini retirement gig off the table....cause that was a very specific scenario in an era with few plsyoff opportunities..

Has any coach in the super bowl era ever had this level of futility and went on to win a super bowl for the team he was coaching during that futility streak?

Are you serious…..?

How long before the sunshine’s on Tomlin’s assZ ?

Tomlin just tied the longest loss streak (7) for play offs, in the NFL.

Salute the nation

Loss = Tomlin doesn’t build the roster or control anything.

Win = Tomlin is an absolute genius for who’s drafted and game plans.

There is literally no way you can indict Rodgers and release Tomlin from blame. Rodgers was his guy. He a been there done that guy. They waited the whole off season for him. And he played exactly how you wouod expect him too. If there were guys open last night it would have been a game. There were not. The scheme and the receivers proclude that.

I really don't get the media love for Tomlin. Coaches with far better success have had to hit the bricks once their team tanked and haven't gotten any love from the media: Harbaugh and Belichek are prime examples. Love them or hate them they built successful teams but once the team was no longer competitive they were shown the door. I'm still not unconvinced the other teams in the division pay Tomlin's salary to keep him here and that's why the Rooney's will never fire him.

Well amazingly Stephen A Smith is saying that Tomlin and the Steelers should part ways. Everyone else is pretty much "fans should be careful what they wish for!"

Barrack Tomlin will be forever protected by the media, and you don't have to be a genius to understand why

Tied with the Marvin Lewis, Ocho Sinco, pac man jones, and Burfict Cincinnati fricking Bengals for the worst run on playoff futility EVER, the team we and the entire league used to laugh at-that is Mike Tomlin’s Steelers

Pretty sure Stephen A is a Steelers fan.

Not a surprise he was the only one advocating for a change.

He pays close enough attention to know what's up

Put this in perspective and look at coaches with similar resumes.
John Harbaugh, 18 seasons in Baltimore and a more recent SB win and playoff win than Tomlin. Very similar regular season record.
Fired not even in person but over the phone.
Mike McCarthy, pretty damn good regular season record, better playoff record, beat Mikey T. In the SB.
Fired!
Bill Belicheck, six SB wins and a impressive regular season and playoff record,
Fired!
So someone please tell me why Mikey T. has this teflon coating?
Why is it his decision? He’s done nothing here since their last SB appearance in 2010. That’s fifteen seasons ago.
This is just ******* crazy!

For the first time, I went to bed last night with hope and woke up with a bit of excitement after a playoff game loss. I gotta believe (only thing I have left) that this latest debacle is Tomlin’s last. Rooney has heard and read displeasure from the media and fan base for years but it’s out there now for the entire NFL to hear. Chants of fire Tomlin etc and playoff futility is eating away at the ownership, front office, fan base and team’s reputation as one of the class organizations in the NFL. The Duece is losing that reputation that his Dad worked so hard to create.

Picking up Tomlin’s 2027 option will send this city into an angry mob, especially next year when nothing changes regarding results on the field. It will begin in April at the draft. Refusing to pick up the option forces Tomlin’s hand and makes recruiting new coaches and even free agents difficult knowing it could be the head coach’s last year.

If Rooney can’t read the room after ignoring the elephant for so long, he’s worse off than I realized. Minority ownership, his son and others have to be arguing that it’s time. I am hoping whether it’s delusional or not that last night was HCMT’s final act.

It goes along with the title of HEAD COACH of PITTSBURGH STEELERS.
Since Noll, they've never fired a head coach. They don't knee jerk react. They simply let contracts expire and don't renew them.

03/01/2026 - This is my HARD LINE DATE.
This is when Art The Deuce must make a decision on picking up 2027 year of Tomlin's contract.
IF that option is picked up, I'm done with the Steelers.
I will still come on this board and talk politics, and religion, and EVERYTHING else but the Steelers because this is a great community of people.
But I will NOT lend one second of my life and time to this abhorrent abomination of an abortion of a dysfunctional team/organization.
Will NOT watch a single game.
Will NOT buy a single item.
Will turn off the television, leave a conversation, walk away from people wearing, if I see/hear anything Steeler related.
And I will NOT return to doing any of those things until BOTH Tomlin and Art the Deuce are no longer in their respective current positions.
BOTH of them have ruined a once great franchise.
We are currently a laughing stock from BROWNS and BENGALS fans. Let that sink in.
Nick Chubb has 2 playoff wins in Pittsburgh during his NFL career.
TJ Watt has 0 playoff wins in Pittsburgh during his NFL career. Let those statements set in.
Tomlin and Deuce have brought a whole new level of insanity and disgrace to our beloved team, and they both must go!

Love you, Steeler Nation.
And I hope we ALL get our wish sometime between now and 03/01/2026.

IF Deuce picks up Tomlin's 2027 option, and ANY Steeler fan shows up at this year's draft, SHAME ON YOU.
You are contributing to enabling this continued incompetence
You're letting the Rooney family know you will support them no matter what, so they don't have to make any changes.

I wager that 10 years from now, the narrative will be that Mike Tomlin took over an aging, declining roster with no QB, no talent, no HOF players and miraculously guided that wobbly team to two SB appearances and 1 SB victory in his first four seasons because of geniosity.

"He was a real-life Ted Lasso!"

anything closer to a political or racial comment is not going to be tolerated
