The PG is saying Colbert hasn't decided anything despite the reports that are out there. We shall see.
I mean, Ben hasn't "decided" either. The PG is saying Colbert hasn't decided anything despite the reports that are out there. We shall see.
Khan to me is more of a numbers crunching type. Not sure he is GM capable. If Omar Khan isn't picked we'll have to replace him too. Like Butler he would have left for a GM opportunity elsewhere if he hadn't been told he was the heir apparent.
They typically don’t make FO decisions until after the season endsThe PG is saying Colbert hasn't decided anything despite the reports that are out there. We shall see.
KC has been grooming him as the replacement for several years. Hunt has handled the Pro-Personnel Scouting side for KC, he’s been integrated into the College Scouting for a couple years. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if KC names his replacement.Brandon Hunt has been the rumored replacement for a few years now.
He knows the Steeler Way, in other words, don’t chase after big $$$ guys, be patient in free agency and build through the draft. It’s a successful blueprint, whatever angle one classifies it as.Not sure of why they would be attracted to him.
Works with an elite QB. He can cover for a lot of short comings. Speaking of this just in. Ben Ben Ben!They typically don’t make FO decisions until after the season ends

Colbert is from Pittsburgh, on the North Side. Graduated from Robert Morris. Not positive but I think he went to Mr Rooney’s High School North Catholic (as did Marino). He started in BLESTO of which the Steelers help run.The "Steelers way" has not exactly yielded much over the past decade or so.
I would at least like to see them weigh some external options.
They brought Colbert in from the Lions of all teams to replace Donahoe amid the struggles in the late 1990s.
Probably Omar Khan but I'd be okay with that.Doesn't the fact that he will retire AFTER the draft signal an in-house move?

Nope Punx, he never was an executive until he was hired by Mr. Rooney. KC was the Pro Player Scout Director for DET after being a college scout. He’s been Director of Football Ops renamed GM for Pitt for 21 years. His first big FA signing?? Getting Jeff Hartings from where else, DET. He has said it was always his FA dream to work for the Steelers.I'm aware of the Pittsburgh connections, but he really established himself as a football executive outside the organization.
I'm just not enamored enough with the way the franchise has performed in recent years to think they should not consider some completely fresh perspectives on things.
Khan or Hunt may turn out great, but they've already had a hand in the current less than stellar state of the team as well.
I didn't think of it that way, but it is an interesting thought.Doesn't the fact that he will retire AFTER the draft signal an in-house move?
