I asked my wife about it and she says she went to planned parenthood back in college. No abortions. Just simple checkups and birth control. No doctoranization.
So when you make claims that people on SN can't complain about Planned Parenthood because they've never stepped inside one, you are the Pot calling the Kettle black. Thank you. We can all speak with our wives, gfs, significant others about their OB/GYN experiences. You're no different than most if not the rest on here.
If we wanted to really offer choices, I'm kind of of the opinion maybe we pay mothers to put up babies for adoption. Not a lot of money. Not enough to turn them into baby makers. But hell, offer $2500 or something in planned parenthood to deliver to term and offer up for adoption or you can pay $500 for an abortion. I wouldn't be against something like that.
This absolutely would turn them into baby makers. This would exacerbate the enormous welfare problem we have in this country, already. LBJ would love you. You take $2500 per baby, add it to the Government subsidies we provide per child today, and what you're offering up is like an annual bonus. Sorry man, that idea's a dud.
You have to sign a contract stating no drugs. Submit to drug tests and health care and checkups. It's not a whole bunch of money in the scheme of things but maybe it prevents a few abortions.
Any time someone rational suggests that those on welfare or subsidies should be drug tested, Libtards the nation over go crazy and cry discrimination. But you think this would fly??
As far as using fetal tissue for science, I really don't have a problem with it. Dead is dead. What happens after is meaningless.
Apparently you didn't watch the videos. Apparently you aren't concerned that PP is breaking the law. Legally, they are not allowed to do what they are doing. Lots of those on the Left were up in arms over Kim Davis not following the LAW and letting her personal beliefs interfere with her legal duties. But it's ok to flip the script and justify PP breaking the law nationwide (not just in one county) due to senseless rationalizations?
Most are done because health care in this country doesn't pay for a sonogram until 20 weeks so if they find something wrong with the fetus genetically, parents should have a choice to terminate.
This sounds a lot like conjecture and opinion. Studies have been conducted on this. For instance, the Finer study shows that poverty tends to be a major factor, as in mothers need to raise the money for abortions they cannot afford, leading to lots of late term abortions. Which opens up a whole other can of worms to discuss that I won't.
Here are some other noted reasons:
- In one study, women under the age of 18 years took longer than older women to acknowledge pregnancy symptoms and take a pregnancy test.
- Poor women were twice as likely as wealthier women to experience delays due to “making arrangements.”
- A delay in confirming pregnancy may be associated with obesity, abuse of drugs or alcohol, a fear of abortion, or being unsure of one’s menstrual cycle.
- Research also shows that having had a prior second-trimester abortion is a strong predictor for second-trimester abortion, suggesting some underlying factors in a woman’s life that limit her ability to take control of a situation.
- A case study report suggests that some women delay because they are conflicted and take more time to resolve whether they can carry a pregnancy term, place their child for ad
option or end their pregnancy.
I think that is what is lost in all of this. 2nd trimester abortions aren't happening as a birth control method by mom's walking in off the street. Most are happening this late in pregnancies because something is seriously ****** up with the fetus that wasn't discovered until the 20 week sonogram.
Studies say you are wrong.
That's just my opinion. If I was judge, jury and executioner, I'd make a law that after 16 weeks, you have to get sign-off on an abortion from a gynecologist that something is wrong with fetal development or the health of the mother was at risk.
We could agree on this, though it will never happen in today's society.
And I think the left-wing would consent to logical restrictions on abortion.
I think you're smoking crack. The Left wing has no problem with breaking the law, harvesting organs from live fetuses, and even when presented with videos of these murderous acts, justify them away. Yet you somehow believe they'd consent to logical restrictions?
