Harris

Kosar is from Boardman, Ohio...which I believe is closer to the Burgh than Cleveland..

But for some reason ...his Dad made him root for the Browns as a kid...

The only player from Pittsburgh that was a Brown that i can think of was Sam Clancy....former Pitt basketball start who actually had a couple good seasons for them..

Yeah, there are instances where fans root for the team they are geographically closer too, but most are proud to be from the state they grew up in. If you're from Ohio regardless of the location, you root for the Stains or Bungles.

Boardman is near Youngstown. There are a lot of Steeler fans in that area, but most are Browns fans.
Erie Pa. has a Browns fan population. The city always did have a funny smell.

Funny thing about that.
I grew up next to the Ohio border.
State Line Road was just a half mile away. I lived approx. half way between Pitt and Cleve.
Had my grandfather bought farmland across the border in Ohio, which he very well could have, I'd be from Ohio, therefore I would be a Browns fan,...and bitching about why we can't beat the Steelers.

Thank You Grandpa, thank you. thank you, thank you!

I think Najee probably earned his 5th year option. Dude is a beast and was good in the bad weather today. Warren had some nice plays but couldn't hold the rock to save his life. He needs to work on that big time,.

Yep, he earned it. 1035 yards 4.05 YPC 8 TDs

I thought he'd average close to 4.4 YPC this year, but what he did was take over around 5-6 games this season like I expected when they drafted him in the first round.

Well the bar just moved to 4.5 yards a carry now. So he sucks again.🙄

I'm at least consistent with Najee, lol. Prior to today he was tied for 12th in rushing. Only 2 running backs had a worse YPC. That also doesn't change his outstanding last three weeks.

What I like about Najee is his effort inbetween tackles and his ball handling.

I think he is a solid fit for the Steelers with Warren. Not so much as a one back option.

Wonder if coach is thinking differently about Najee these days

imagine NH with a Pouncey in his prime. the way he run inside, this would be insane.

You run Najee between the tackles to wear teams out. You have your change of pace back in Warren who can bounce outside much easier. They are a very nice 1-2 punch.

The best thing about having 2 great backs is no matter how hard Shades tries to run the wheels off it’s much harder when ya have to drive 2 cars

Solutions oriented

When Najee runs north-south he’s very good, but when he gets that silly idea that he can outrun defenders to the sideline he’s very subpar at that, leave that to Jaylen

His silly idea and a few times yesterday it was Sullivan's silly idea. In yesterday's game, Najee should have only been running up the gut.

One minor addon, being very familiar with the area from the long-gone days. Youngstown was pretty hardcore Steelers ... its steel history made a lot of its residents more likely to relate to Pittsburgh than Stinkland. As you note, the area surrounding Youngstown (like Boardman, as you note) definitely more Brownies. In Youngstown though, Steelers were always on and fans everywhere.

In looking at Najee’s stats, it looks like he is the heart and soul of the offense:

In the Steelers 10 wins, he averaged 17.6 carries for 76 yards 4.3ypc and scored 8TDs

In the Steelers 7 losses, he averaged 11.3 carries for 39.3 yards 3.5ypc and scored ZERO TDs

So goes Najee, so go the Steelers.

He’s gotten better at running downhill, maybe from watching film of Warren.

Jekyll and Hyde, Hopefully he can keep it going, he's gotta feel as confident as he's ever felt with 2 back to back 100yd games. Guy has shown more in 2 games than the past 2 years.
North and South Najee North and South

The yards per carry stat dosent take into account City yards vs.Highway yards.
For 2 and a have seasons these yards have been all Up Hill city yards.
I think we are seeing the oline blocking better and NH running smarter....he always ran hard.

Competition sometimes brings good things.
This was a big talk on the radio with the QB position heading into next year, looking back at Kordell's career in Pittsburgh. Absolutely valid comparison with Harris who really stepped up after facing some stiff criticism from the media.

Ok girl was just talking about Rudy. She says he seems to be really confident. I told her he rode the bench and probably heard so much about what he wasn't. And yeah he really believes in himself. So you add a chip on your shoulder and confidence into an equation you can get in a groove and accomplish some good things.

I don't know if he will come crashing back to earth. But what I do know it is understandable that you go with that combination of here and now.

I absolutely love this guy. He is Steeler football. He is the RB the Steelers Need......
