NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated today that he expects NFL stadiums to be back at full capacity in the 2021 season. “Football is simply not the same without fans, and we expect to have full stadiums in the upcoming season,” stated Goodell during his media availability today.

The Pittsburgh Steelers only had fans at a few games in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They allowed fans during the months of October and November, but following a third surge of cases in Pennsylvania, the governor’s office restricted outdoor capacity and Heinz Field was shut back down for the remainder of the season. Many players voiced their displease of having to play in front of an empty stadium and fans all over the country will be excited to cheer on their favorite teams in person in 2021.

The Steelers will play a franchise record nine regular season games at Heinz Field in 2021 after the NFL announced today that they will now play a 17-game regular season schedule. The NFL season is set to kick off Thursday, September 9th and the NFL schedule will likely release the weekend before the NFL Draft in April.

GREAT news for those who attend but even better news for the players to play IN front of the fans, brings back home field advantage.

My firm hope is that vaccination will lead to good numbers and we can start to move well past this. An outdoor game after vaccination should not pose a problem. If we are going to parse risk out that far it will basically become impossible to live. My more important hope is that my son will have a grade eleven school football season. They should contend for city/ provincial champion.

Many reports say the vaccine will only be good for maybe 4 months. I have also seen one report that says they are hoping for a year or two. I sure hope the damn thing lasts a year or two.

I think the larger goal of massive vaccination is to reach herd immunity and I agree it might take a few rounds to get it under greater control.

There will probably be a booster shot later this year, my best guess. From there, who knows how this virus plays out.

I just can’t see it happening.

Had planned on going to Hall of Fame ceremony this year but I just can’t see it being a open event.

I wonder if they have camp at St. Vincent...
I for one sure hope they do. Not only did it suck for the players but it also sucked for the economic impact it had on the locals at St. Vincent.

Make America Florida Again...lol.
They can come down here for a few years...haha. We have plenty of Pennsylvania transplants down here to fill a stadium...naah , just remove the governor. Problem solved.
