Has a team ever been outrushed 10/1 in any football game at any level in the history of the sport??
Seriously
I wouldn't have thought it was possible before yesterday.
Nobody should be surprised. Its not like this is anything new. Just can't believe how any team could perform at a level that allows a rushing differential like that.
Burn it down

Some of the stats are crazy. One team had 19 first downs while the other had 17 total plays.

13 play 85 yard TD drive. 13 run, 0 pass.

A guy like Arthur Smith, former HC and former OC, must have significant insights on the problems and solutions. it wouldn't surprise me if he exited quickly
If I were him, I would. Just like Flores did after his rehabilitation tour with the Steelers

-Bruce Arians, forcibly retired, immediately coaches again. Rumors he criticized Tomlin..
-DLB forced out, immediately coaches again. Rumors Tomlin stripped him of most DC powers his last few years then scapegoated him.. and ongoing issue...
-Tom Bradley, mysteriously leaves after fixing the DBs.. never explained why.
-Mike Munchak, departs after fixing oline to" be closer to family.. doesnt return after getting axed in Denver
- Brian Flores, leaves to DC in minnesota after one year here...
Todd Haley's departures was played as a Ben issue... but the fact is that every high profile coach has split with Tomlin and doesnt come back, even when there are reasonable opportunities for some of them to have done so...

I think the ego issues are real.

The articles in this morning’s Post-Gazette are just depressing. A list of all the issues and questions facing the Steelers with quotes from players saying they don’t know why the defense collapsed. It also reminded the reader that of all the changes that could be made, HCMT won’t be one of them.

Could 2025 be the year Tomlin has a losing season? Right now I’m feeling like it will be.

I can’t help but wonder if Wilson really wants to return or he’s just keeping his options open not knowing the level of interest he’ll get in FA.

Don't forget Keith Butler, DC was let go or "retired" or whatever it was, then went on DVE and said he would've loved the chance to get to call a game, meaning Tomlin was the one calling the defense on game day.

The Haley one I get to a point, I mean even Kurt Warner said they didn't see eye to eye and would butt heads a lot. Not the easiest guy to get along with....but man were his offenses fun to watch.

Yeah, it happens... Cowher once fired Tim Lewis and Mike Mularkey while they were interviewing for HC jobs because while successful, he didnt feel their schemes were what we needed... he then brought back DLB and promoted Whiz and two years later had a SB ring.

It's like they all know that Tomlin ain't the guy.....and once gone, have no reason to point why they left.

this guy posted a video encapsulating all of reasons why Tomlin needs to go, very succinctly and shooting down the ridiculous pro-Tomlin arguments that are still floating out there.

And players want to play for Tomlin because they know they can f#ck off.

I would never fathom that he let's them **** off at all. His teams are so polished and machine like in their operation.

It's amazing to watch every year. I am in total awe of the precision, may as well call them a Rolex team.

Then you get to the tactical brilliance that is like watching our very own Sun Tzu make battle art out of game plans.

Constantly changing, you can never be prepared for what's coming. It's like trying to guess a 6000 digit lock correctly.

Then there's the motivation factor, since grown men nowadays need a ton of extrinsic motivation. I don't know how the players don't spontaneously combust, they're so pumped.

I've heard the NFL might make HCMT motivational speeches considered a performance enhancing substance and ban that ****.

I can't believe anyone is still defending him at this point, but we have a couple delusional people on this board...after Saturday, I didn't think it would be possible!

It's his high level fanboy club. They'll defend him to the death over what's best for the team. I'd swear they're family members, agents or players.

There's a large body of work over a decade long that backs us. It's on film and film doesn't lie.

No point in convincing them. We could have another 5 seasons like our last 10 and they'd still look at him with adoring eyes and blame everyone else.

There's no accountability for Teflon Tomlin anyway. As long as they get to that magic.500 all is good.

September 12, 1999. How could you forget? The Steelers welcomed the clowns back to the NFL with a 43-0 beatdown.
Rushing yards: 217 to 9
Passing yards: 247 to 31
Total yards: 464 to 40
First downs: 33 to 2

Feel better now? Revisiting that game is always worth a nice chuckle for me.

Damn I miss the days when we had some record going about most games without allowing a 100 yard rusher, that was at a time when running the ball was status quo. anyone remember who the coach was back then. hmmmmmm

Those are the Greg Lloyd,Kevin Greene and Rod Woodson days. They took defense seriously. Blitzburgh! And it was violent gang tackling. Nothing passive about that group.

They would have laughed yesterday's defense off the field. Probably tell them to take those colors off, you're embarrassing us.

On the flip side we once outgained the Texans like 450-50 and still lost 2-3 years later lol.

Pittsburgh Dad called them "Jag"ernaughts and it fits this group perfectly. This is what I'm calling this defense from today forward.

Arthur Moats is the biggest homer I've heard so far, he said we are right where we should be, Tomlin doesn't have the QB to compete, and he doesn't have the roster to compete so 10-7 is better than we should be, blah, blah, blah then they read my text on the air, asking well what about when we did have the QB and the roster, we didn't win, he said the players didn't perform well enough.

actually I think that was the 2000 teams, maybe both.
