As to Iran, I fear that the only way that will end is with the use of tactical nukes. If we don't do it, Israel will at some point. Maybe not this year, but definitely at some point.

Best solution without getting any of our own people involved and hurt is to simply relax environmental regulations, drill for more oil wherever it is found, and build more refineries left and right in order to depress the price of oil and starve them out. The reason ISIS exists is because of the Iran backed Maliki regime who marginalized all of the country's Sunni population. For many Sunni's, rule under ISIS waas preferrable to rule under Maliki. Iran is already completely buddy/buddy with Iraq. Iran couldn't take out Saddam, what makes you think they can take out ISIS?

How are "breakthroughs in renewables a wiser path"? NG is here NOW. Our own oil is here NOW. There are NO "renewables" here now and there never will be unless alchemy is found to work and we can't wait.

Renewable energy is a crock of ****. Name me the renewable source that will fly an airplane. Name me a greenie source that will heat homes in the North East. People love to talk about this but what they don't understand is that there is NO magic pill. There is nothing that can be done about the reliance on oil except to drill for more and work on side projects like solar panels or wave technology to help with demand of oil. No, they are not 1000 times better. However, when they see a bad guy, they probably do not need to call the first flag officer in the chain of command before they shoot.

There is no such thing as civilized warfare. No, you don't go around the village cutting off heads, but you deal with your enemies swiftly and violently. People get caught up in it, guess they'll get the message and get away from the bad guys or start diming them out.

This solar plane they plan to fly for 25 days and 21,000 miles. I think in 1000 years they should be able to improve on this technology.
