Huge scouting presence at Louisville / Florida State including Colbert

Mf'er is flat-out LOA-DED. He patented some method extracting silver from x-rays and pretty much runs the little town he lives in.

Hell, you need to hook me up.

Yea, Ben actually kept it clean during college. But in all fairness, Ben was widely known as a douchebag his first couple of years in the burgh- even before the 'accusations'.

Winston's problems aren't really character flaws (fighting, drugs/alcohol, not working hard, disrespectful to coaches), his issues are purely maturity. Which is understandable for a 20 y/o in college. Hell, we all have done some dumb sh*t in college.

I just think that him and Ben share a lot of qualities and Ben would be a good mentor for guiding him to maturity. It would be a great transition to have a Ben-like QB waiting in the wings 2 years down the line. I just cant see us using the necessary 1st round pick to grab him and there is no way he slides to the 2nd...

Didn't Ryan Leaf have the same issues? Also stealing is a huge character flaw.

Cowher wanted Shawn Andrews but when the Rooney's said it will be a QB he had a hard on the way Andrea Kramer's old **** had for Brady for Rivers, Glad we got saved by Archie Manning as he didn't want Eli to play for at that time a unstable franchise in the Chargers. Ben had 0 character concerns most of what I remember why he went to a small school is in high school he didn't get to play QB till his SR year b/c for the first 3 years the coach's son was the starter.

Nope not all of us.

Like I said before, that is a myth. Cowher and the FO were in discussions about the draft pick. They hadn't even made a decision yet when Rooney walked into the room. So nobody knows who they would have picked.

Hey...hey....HEY! Andrea Kramer is a hit. Don't be hatin' on her.

I think Beachum should move inside to LG and we put a stronger and longer OL at the blindside, draft a OT early and start him perhaps Brandon Scherff or Cameron Erving FSU, OT, Iowa or sign Micheal Roos to a decent 2 year deal and let Adams challenge him while drafting a LT in say the 4th or 3rd.

Troy with these illegal contact rules cant stay long in man coverage and it doesn't look like they are going to give Shamarko a chance, we may be better drafting a S early

The way the draft has been going lately it would be hard to tell what they are looking for, QB, Tackle, CB, OLB, TE, are all needs on the team, some more urgent than others.

Hopefully they were looking at Nick O'Leary to someday replace Heath.

A TE who is even slower than Heath Miller?

After watching Heath go for the end zone and get tackled before he could get there I am not sure there is a slower TE even if you count Adams. He did however get into the end zone later on. Even slow Heath is still better than the speedy DHB because he can be counted on to a catch the ball and be normally hold on to it. That DHB seems to either drop it or fumble it if he does not drop it. Now I know that is over the top but every time I see him on the field I hope someone else is open.

please, provide proof of Ben's college douchiness.

Not that I'd ever want to back up HB, but my current director in Baltimore used to work at Miami of Ohio in the Athletics Dept while he was there. He was great on the field, but arrogant and dismissive to the staff and students that weren't part of his circles. I also work with Genesco (A sports marketing company for PepsiCo), while Ben was in the running for ROY (Which Pepsi Sponsored), my friend at GSE told me after meeting him, that he was a douche, and a yo-boy (speaking in ebonics was what she meant). And yes, he hit on her.

He's come a long way to giving back a 1mil facility to the Athletic Department at Miami OH. That was a big surprise to the AD, but Ben seems to have grown up since he had kids and got married.

Anyone remember this from last year?

Where is #Steelers GM Kevin Colbert tonight? Scouting Clemson-Georgia Tech, where Tajh Boyd is starring. He's from Hampton, Va. like Tomlin

Tajh Boyd was there, too?

:p

Eddie Goldman DT from FSU is a dominant interior guy but I would like to see what McCullers can do and McLendon has played pretty good the last few games (before injury). Just don't seem like a need.

DeVante Parker WR Louisville is a tall rangy WR with long arms and big hands. Was hurt with a busted foot but has had two big games since coming back. But with Bryant WR doesn't seem to be as much of a need I feel.

PJ Williams FSU is a tall CB with a lot of upside. 6ft, 4.4ish speed, good fluid hips. Ok hands.

Lorenzo Mauldin OLB/DE Lousiville this is the guy I think they are looking at IMHO. 6-4 243lbs pass rusher to say good-bye Worilds with. Dude can get after the QB.

The scouts being at this game should surprise no one. FSU is the defending National Champion, and is loaded with guys who will be playing on Sundays soon. A game on the road, vs a Top 25 team is an excellent time to take a look at some of these guys.

I was thinking the big schools could have lots of players that the steelers might be interested in. We need or will need soon lots of players at different positions. So it might be situation normal.

yes, please.
I saw this dude play a year or two ago. he looked damn good then, but would on occasion make bonehead plays or get pushed out of the play altogether.
A link I read (I can't post links anymore since someone gets sandy vagina) notes that Louisville is moving to the 3-4 this season and Mauldin is moving from DE to LB.
Mauldin is 6-4, 244. Just a quick look around shows that he's a first or second round pick. There would be much hand wringing and gnashing of teeth if we chose ANOTHER LB in the first.

Was there another college game Thursday night that showcased as much talent as that one?

I think Ford is onto something with Mauldin. Worilds should go if he asks for more than 2-3 M per which you know he will. He is currently drastically over paid and needs replacing. We also seem to like guys from Louisville's D as far as projecting to our system.

I would tend to agree, but that didn't stop us from taking Roethlisberger. I think most would say that worked out ok.

Youre an idiot.

We didn't have a Franchise QB then,, and rothlisbergers troubles came later, there was no "Obvious signs" . But Troll on douche.

If Worlids keeps playing the way he is playing he will be worth it.

Sheesh.. you have MORE copy n paste to share? And you need to quote other articles just to state that Louisville is going 3-4? Bring it on, Maryanne. It's what we've come to expect from your deep, penetrating football mind.

why do my posts bother you so much?
