Better to prevent the TD even if it does result in one later. It still gives a chance to stop it.Not to be Grinch here...lol...but is that a stat we can look at and agree with?
And by that I mean how many plays that would have resulted in a TD did he prevent with a DPI which then resulted in a red zone TD on following plays that was not on him?
Still impressive by him, but it would be interesting to know how many times what I mentioned has happened.
Very true, but the stat gives a false impression of his coverage skills at this point in his career if that is the case. That's all I'm saying.Better to prevent the TD even if it does result in one later. It still gives a chance to stop it.
I trust Matt Williamson on his stats.
Not sure it does. His job is to first stop the pass and then second to stop a long gain or TD. He does exactly that. Half his PI calls are more rep than real. At least based on what other do and don’t have called. I think he is one of the best.Very true, but the stat gives a false impression of his coverage skills if that is the case. 12 yd vs Indy- Fumble
10 yd vs Indy - Field goal
3 yd vs Ravens -punt
His tackling has also improved from a year ago.He is playing better tha. Last year.
For some reason I just don't like him.
But if he helps win games I don't have to like him
