I wonder if Matt Canada is watching today's game at home ?

Really? May have ...may not have. Could of...could not have. Possibly he did....possibly he might not have. What ever fits your narrative in the end I guess.
 
I’m glad he’s gone and hopefully we don’t ever have to mention him again. The nightmare is now over!
I still want the team to explore a new OC in the off season…. One from outside the organization with a new offense with fresh and innovative ideas.
 
I took a break from watching the Steelers specifically because of Canada. For my health and sanity, so yeah I have a grudge against Canada still. But really us fans need to demand an answer as to WHO is responsible for keeping him here ? Seeing now that Canada would take input from other asst coaches? Seriously what head coach continues with an OC this unsuccessful, this poor, predictable, and CONTINUE for 2 years ? Some heads need to roll and the fans need to demand it. The fact that it took a near mutiny on this team to finally get this OC out of here is a testament to just how poor the leadership is. Omar Kahn needs to be handed a blank sheet and told to go find the best OC , best DC, and check the HC situation as well.

Tomlin claimed the fire so I would think that puts him in line for the reason he stayed around as long as he did.
 
As much as I despise him, does anyone honestly think John Harbaugh would have kept Matt Canada after last year ? The Bills? Eagles ? I can’t think of ANY team that would have. THAT is a fundamental problem.
Think about it..we HAD Brian Flores on our coaching staff last year (for some reason?). He could have been our DC, and Leftwich our OC, and we passed that up who made that assessment ?

Had me for most of it. Not as sold on Lefty as some others are. Although I do like some of his football moments...

But yeah..I think most teams would have canned him at the end of last seasons futility...
 
And why exactly could we bring in Brian Flores to be a ‘defensive consultant’ last year but that same thing wasnt considered for our offense that was struggling so badly last year and this year ? Even when we had former coaches (Leftwich) publicly offering to do so ?
 
I don’t want to push Leftwich as the answer it’s just the first one that came to mind…that being said I still think he would have been a huge improvement over Canada.

Yep I would have at least brought him in some help. Was odd that they held onto him regardless of what their excuse was...
 
I didn't get to see the game, but it's kinda crazy that we crack 400 yards of offense for the first time in 60ish games as soon as Elvis, or Matt rather, leaves the building.

To be fair, what did you want him to do, quit? Be mad at Tomlin, not Canada. He should have never been hired in Ben's final season, just ridiculous from the start.

He should have sought out help for his crayon addiction. Those colors didn't even produce pleasant colors, just darkness. Eating them like they are Lucky Charms, just magically delicious.

I hear what you are saying, but don’t group[ Leftwich as some super star OC. He’s had troubles along the way. He has risen in want here, mostly due to being an ex-player. He is but an average OC and not some new minded guru.

I personally hope they broaden the search way past Leftwich as I’m sure there will be better candidates out there.

It will come down to who “Tomlin” can “work” with and within the scheme. Leftwich seems to fit that mold.

As far as Matt O’Canada goes……….. he is in the past and I could care less.

Some here, holding a grudge is comical as to over something they have no control over.

I don’t carry a rear view mirror because what’s happened in the past is behind me and I only look at today and forward.
