nope he is essentially suspended for a year.Could someone just sign him as a free agent now?
I think he will be eligible for the regular draft next year. He will just have to figure out a way to get those reps in. He should hire a trainer for the year clean up some of his mechanics..
You see a lack of effort there? I don't. There are a lot of shltty Miami of Ohio quarterbacks, and by God, there they are. I do applaud the effort.you dont really applaud the effort. cmon.
From everything I've read, he'll be eligible for the 2027 draft. I think this was a case where the NFL saw he didn't take any accountability for his actions and he wasn't good enough to be a pain in the rear just entering the league. One thing I thought was interesting with this whole story is how many analysts propped him up from a day 3 prospect to being a first-round talent. He's not a GREAT prospect. He's decent. So now he will have to work his way through some B-leagues (CFL, EFL) of even summer leagues for a year and see what happens.
I am curious to "rights". Is he draft eligible for 2027? Is he not considered a free agent until AFTER the 2027 draft and he doesn't get selected? Does any suspension from the league start now or AFTER he gets on a team in 2027?
Seems harsh. For all the wink, wink, don't say anything stuff going on with gambling now in all pro sports, they certainly are dropping the hammer on this kid. He's like a pariah.
Believe me, I'm not defending his actions. Maybe he's a sleezebag. But there are a LOT of sleezebags on the field every week.
All this stuff actually makes me MORE interested in how his story ends up now.
