can we run the damn ball..damn open a hole OL

where the hell is the defense

Passing game is decent. the WRs and TEs can make enough plays if the OL gives Rogers enough time

OL has to get better at run blocking

Defense has to stop the run much better than today

middle of the field was open all day for fields...wonder why he wasn't allowed to make those throws last year

defense finally makes a stand to end the game huge hit by Ramsey to stop the 1st down

Thank God for Boswell...damn he can kick
 
Right now the defense is paper champions. Awful effort trying to stop the run. Too many missed plays.

Rodgers was excellent.

DK and Smith both played pretty well in their debut.

I don't understand the Gainwell/Warren usage. They need to play the better player.
 
Run the darn ball and stop the run. Rinse and repeat for 4+ years now. I know we have injuries and an OL that needs to gel, but other teams are just about automatic on 3rd and 4th and short, where we are just about an automatic miss on 3rd or 4th and short.

There was a lot to be optimistic about after this game. Keep Rodgers upright and get a running game, and 30-point games will be the norm this year.

Hopefully, the 2 injuries on D are just bumps and bruises. I believe we had 2 more guys in the secondary go out.

P.S. I said this multiple times during the game thread - fire Loudermilk immediately. Any FA off the street is better than him.. He should have been gone a year or two ago.
 
Only thing I liked about the defense was Ramsey making plays at the end. That text book hard tackle was beautiful.


The run defense looks like the same carried over from the rats game last year.

Rodgers with 4 td passes! Dude still has it. He won't last if he keeps getting smashed like today.

The running game still isn't up to standard. I'd say most of that is on the OL.

Boz gets the game all. If he doesn't nail that kick ,they lose today.

Really it was exactly what we have seen for years now? Who is at fault? Players? Coaching? Scheme? All?

Couldn't be worse than what we see going on now. Personally I would love to scrap the base 2 - 4 - 5 line up. Beef if up some. Go to a traditional 3 - 4 line up. Could it get worse?

Exciting game. The offense sure needed a game like this. I can only imagine if they stunk the joint out. The pressure would have been fierce. The look on Rodgers face throughout the game was concentration,focus. I’ve said since the rumors of getting him he will be all in. His legacy took a huge hit with the Jets,there was no way he was going to let his career end that way. Good on him for having this type of game while all the football eyes were on him. Clutch.

Speaking of clutch,Mr Boswell. Mann oh Mann.
DK had a good outing. Calvin did well. Jaylen came on in the 2nd half. Jonnu will be a great addition.
That tackle by Echols was a thing of beauty against Justin. Clutch.
Arthur Smith all in all had a good game.

Obviously our D sucked but made some clutch plays at the end. Our LB’s had a horrible game. Queen and Wilson. They all have to look in the mirror,but I do believe they and our OLine will improve.
A win is a win……bring on Seattle!

Naw, it's just the usual Tomlin led defense.
 
The Jets have some good, young talent. They ought to, with where they have been picking since about 1970. That was gonna be a tough match up for the first game of the year. But it's better to try to fix up those issues they have with a win.
 
This is no longer my initial thought but I just took a peek at the scoreboard across the NFL, so far...

Guess who scored the most points on offense so far???

Yeah, that would be the terribly coached Steelers. I don't think we've scored 34 points in a game since 7 was at the helm...and all those points were scored by the offense.
