Initial Thoughts on browns Game

Before I forget Steelers officially ended the clowns season. As they are playoff eliminated.Good days!
What bothers me most is that the Steelers three losses have come at the hands of ****** teams. That irks me like nothing else in sports right now.

Cowboys lost their franchise QB. Clowns won a game in their home with bad weather circumstances. Weather like that helps neutralize speed. You can tell who had the better D today.

Colts was with Fields.

I think we seen wins we normally wouldn’t have in the past. No better way to break trends than well break trends.😅

I think so far they get a B plus or A minus.

That colts game had every weird bounce and decision and call go against us and we lost by 3.... we had the ball with a couple minutes to go and a chance to win or tie the game...

Dallas and Cleveland were last minute losses...

Shades says all you need is a safety for 2 if you hold your opponent scoreless.
"If you throw the ball, three things can happen and two of them are bad." -- Coach Woody Hayes, OSU

"Okay, I've modified my view of the passing game. If your team throws the ball, four things can happen and three are bad, the last one being you punch the guy who intercepted the ball."
- Coach Woody Hayes, OSU

The offense looked a lot better in the second half, but there is a huge dropoff at WR without Pickens. Hopefully, he was just held out today as a precaution and it isn't something that will affect him the rest of the season.

They're going to need him at 100% if they're going to make a run in January.
Would love us to start using the middle of the field more consistantly.....there are catches to be had there.

Jills were 1st and 30 after a false start and facemask and Rams give up a TD. Blown coverage by Rams allows an easy TD on 3rd down.

The officials made some really soft (bad) calls for both teams today.

As expected, the Steelers weakest position by far is WR and we saw that in full effect today without Pickens. Thankfully this team is the sum of its parts and everyone did enough.

The Browns only got a garbage time sack, but Russ was under a lot of pressure early. They seemed to clean that up as the game progressed and the offense got moving.

Great game for Warren, he was gashing the defense. However, a lot of questionable running back usage, IMO. Patterson doesn't need to be touching the ball 5 times when you factor in 16 for Najee and 11 for Warren.

Defense played pretty well. They let Jameis step up and make plays early, but that wasn't there in the second half. A couple of big picks as well including that fantastic grab by Benton.

On a related note, is the jury in yet on the Deshaun Watson trade being the worst trade in NFL history?

I was a little surprised looking at the stats that the Stains outgained us in total yards 300 to 267.
It would be interesting to know if the team that wins the stats usually wins the game.
I would guess yes.

Where’s Ford been? He would know those kinds of things.

I guess I could look at the stats in each game played today to confirm that.

Where’s Lloyd? Give him a job to do.
I would venture to say that he’s a little down after today’s win.

One wants us to get rid of Russ and keep Fields because it is cheaper. While calling Rooney a piece of sh!t earlier. The other is in mourning after each Tomlin win.

I wouldn’t take much stock in either if the mememe’s opinions. The site is better when they aren’t around.

This isn't the 70's with 7 or 8 future HOF head coaches on the sidelines every week.

No kidding. Thank god for that. There's only a handful of great coaches in the NFL, and another chunk who could be great, but have idiot owners and general managers who change coaches every other year.

Then you have guys who have no buisness coaching in the NFL at all.

Why are we not #2 seed? Is it because Buffalo clinched division? Our record is technically better…

Steelers overall and conference records are the same as Bills, and they both have one loss against common opponents. Bills are probably ahead on strength of victory as the Steelers have more wins against bottom feeders (Giants, Raiders, Cleveland) and Buffalo have a win against Kansas. The strength of victory tiebreaker may flip in the Steelers favour if the two teams finish the season with the same overall and conference records. The Steelers have a much greater strength of schedule to finish the season, which means most remaining games a win improves the Steelers strength of victory, whereas for Buffalo, three of their remaining games will reduce their strength of victory.

sure the bills wins over arizona, the jets, miami and the titans are so impressive

plus they have losses to Houston and the rats

Both of us are tied down to strength of victory...its very hard to figure out how tgat will end up because it is based on the collective win percentage of the teams you beat, but if we beat the eagles and Chiefs and Ravens it will go up a lot...

as things currently stand, if the Bills and Steelers won out, tge steelers would overtake them, but that can be beat if the teams the bills beat keep winning and the ones tge steelers beat lose a lot

You have completely missed the point. I was explaining the likely reason Buffalo is currently ahead of the Steelers in playoff seeding is strength of victory (not doing a comparative analysis of the two teams seasons to date). Losses and impressiveness of wins have zero impact on strength of victory.

The only thing that matters in strength of victory is the win-loss record of teams beaten. Whilst Miami and Arizona may not be that good, Miami still have a three game better winning record and Arizona a four game better winning record than Raiders and Giants and therefore will contribute to Buffalo having a better strength of victory rating. And the Jets and Titans are cancelled by the Steelers wins over Jets and Cleveland.

Ford has been busy getting Mason Rudolph’s face tattooed to every square inch of his body. So far he’s at 300 different tattoos. One for every page where he told anyone and everyone about Mason’s greatness. It’s a little Christmas present to himself.

Sure but SOV is extremely fluid... every week it fluctuates as teams win and lose games

The big thing to remember is tge Steelers have Tge Chiefs,Eagles, Baltimore and Cinci left thats a lot of SOV wins if they win out
The Bills play Detroit next, but afterward they play New England Twice and the Jets ... that will drag their SOV down if they win all those

Kudos to Coach T for making the decision to keep Pickens without a helmet today..
The team didn’t need his on field distractions today and needed a lunch pail type effort.. which they got.

Well if his hamstring was tweaked/injured,I would have kept him out too. They're going to need him down the road and you don't want it to turn into a 5-6 week or more recovery time.

He's one of the guys on offense they really can't afford to lose right now, not for the long term.

I don't think Pickens has missed a single game up until now,so he's pretty durable.

The Division basically comes down to beating Baltimore in two weeks.. there are lots of other ways it happens, but Baltimore is 2 games back with 4 to play, that loss would give is the tiebreaker and put them 3 games back with 3 to go and no tiebreaker... they couldnt do it... Batimores hopes are that we go 1-3, and they win out or we lose out and they go 3-1 or
we go 2-2 and our two losses are to Baltimore and Cinci and they win out
