Initial Thoughts on packer Game

I just read that Aaron said he was using a silent count last night due to the Packer fans. How often does that happen in Pittsburgh?
It doesn’t happen. I was there and it was embarrassing. But Tomlin said they “own” it…. Again. No one knows wtf that means but I for one feel so much better today having heard that.

My initial thought…as an avid Browns hater living near Cleveland I guess I gotta be happy with just beating the Browns twice a year.

They pretty much get what they deserve for bringing Austin back at DC.
What were they going to do? Flores would have been a much better option, but he saw exactly how life under Tomlin actually works and he wanted nothing to do with it.
I know he has limited control of the defense due to Tomlin, but they needed someone else in that position capable of at least bringing a new perspective and approach to things.
See above
Omar Khan doesn't get a pass either, as he looks like a ******* clown right now with all that new money given to Watt, Heyward, Ramsey and Slay prior to the season.

His and Tomlin's drafting hasn't been too hot either.
I am giving Kahn a limited pass on this as I believe Tomlin has the final say in everything.

Honestly, the defense was so bad at the end of last season "someone other than Austin" would have sufficed. At least it would have shown they weren't satisfied with the status quo.

Keeping him and expecting different results borders on insane.

Since Tomlin obviously isn't going anywhere for at least a few more years, Rooney needs to step in during the offseason and force Tomlin to yield more control of the defense to whoever the next DC is.

It's why I wish they would have gone outside the organization to replace Colbert, like they did when they brought Colbert in from the Lions to replace Tom Donahoe.

Khan had already been working with Tomlin for too long before becoming GM.

He came into the league as a finance guy and pretty much learned everything he knows about football from Tomlin as well as Colbert.

Sometimes some influence from elsewhere is necessary when things get as stagnant as they have with the Steelers.

One could argue that is what they did with Andy Weidl from the Eagles, but he has no real authority in the organization though.

He's still basically just a head of scouting, but with a fancier title and bigger paycheck than what he had with the Eagles.

Completely agree, and in a less dis functional organization that would be much more likely. I fully expect to see much more Groundhog day insanity as long as Tomlin is at the helm.

AR2 “Dookie” needs to RESIGN, cut a “I’m sorry” check to every fan and then commit Seppuku in shame. He SINGLEHANDEDLY has destroyed a once great franchise through his great ineptitude. He is the TYPICAL 3rd generation nepo baby.

AR2 didn’t do that because he didn’t want to create a power struggle that Tomlin would surely have lost.

I believe that they did with Kahn exactly what they did with Tomlin, surround him with the tools to learn in his first few years. I will reserve judgment on Kahn until he gets to be the real GM .

I knew we were cooked when a flutter ball turned in to a 59 yard reception. Honestly, I think the only ones who care about this team getting better are the fans on this site. Whether they know it or not, this team is playing for a high draft pick.
I knew they were cooked when they went in at half-time only up by 9.

I never recalled that..
Expect to see more of that as we continue to mire in mediocrity.
Unfortunately.
Btw.. could any of you even vaguely vaguely imagine that happening at three Rivers Stadium, especially in the 70s.
And yes, I do enjoy living in my past, especially in my Steeler football past.
Proud and unashamedly!!

I just read Sunday was the first time in a quarter century that the Steelers lost by 10 or more points when they led going into the 4th quarter.

Historic! 😅
