Initial Thoughts on rats Game

I really don’t understand some of the negativity about this w win?!
This goes down as one of the top five games of this historic rivalry.
Our favorite football team I watched today showed a lot of determination, physicality, and having a strong will not to lose this ball game.

I think the Houston Texans need to check their *** Monday night before they get off the plane in Pittsburgh.
Go Steelers.
Men of steel.
AFC North champions.

Oh, and by the way, wecan all thank the Catholic priest tonight that blessed the end zone with the holy water before the game. See not all priest are bad people.
😁

Really lucky to win that in the end. It won't amount to a hill of beans if they get throttled next week.

Whatever defense they called that left the entire middle of the field uncovered, they'd better scratch that.

On the positive side they get a big upgrade at wr next week. DK should be well rested.

but his comments are idiotic

on the play where Highsmith jumped to stop the throw to the RB behind him then got the sack he said something about Highmith being fooled by lamar...******* idiot
Damn right. Smitty caused that play to blow up both buy being in his face and jumping his passing lane.

Nice no call on the OPI on Flowers route. There were two picks to spring him. Samuels didn’t adjust either. He should have bailed as soon as he saw no receiver on his side.

My initial thought was that DK owes a lot of gratitude to the Ravens kicker for missing that FG.

They conveniently don't call or call things at their discretion. It's great tv.

Also…
There’s two things that are really good about this win …
one is that we beat the ravens and two is that Cleveland didn’t knock us out of the playoffs..

One thing I will say, for sure, is that they were putting pads on pads and hitting tonight. I liked what the defense was doing, but the busted assignments and not finishing plays is what causes pause because it’s continued to happen for years. I wanted to say the defense deserved a better fate, but they really almost ****** things up there because of mental mistakes.

It is a Monday Night Football game in Pittsburgh. Does the streak continue? If they pull it off, they’ll certainly have earned it.

Initial thought:
It would have been a whole lot easier to just beat Cleveland last week.

Other thoughts:
1) Watching Rodgers waste timeouts in the second half was hard to comprehend. Worked out in the end, I guess. But damn, I don't think I've ever seen any team blow three TOs like that...in a close game when they very well may have needed every one. You're 42 years old, man -- just call your own freaking play at the line.
2) Cam Heyward had one hell of a game. I've been critical of his contractual actions, but even at his advanced age, he is still bringing it on the field.
3) Conversely, Jalen Ramsey had his worst game as a Steeler. No idea what he was doing or who he was covering on several crucial plays. Misplayed the ball on Likely that could/should have ended the Steelers' season.
4) I never understood why coaches go turtle ball and set up for 40+ yard field goals with the game in the balance. 44 yards at Acrisure Stadium for all the marbles with a rookie kicker is certainly no gimme. Ironically, Boz missing that extra point may have indirectly led to the Steelers win. Had they been down by 3, the Ravens would have run a couple more plays and possibly scored a TD.
5) Tomlin should have put three points on the board at the end of the first half. It's not like a 4th-and-goal at some random point in the game, where if you don't make it, you back the opponent up and force them to go the entire length of the field. To their credit, the Steelers rebounded after halftime and coming away with zero points did not seem to affect the positive momentum they had built.

Here's the only takeaway that matters. The Steelers won so Mike Tomlin thinks every decision worked out and nothing needs to change.

He may have doubted himself for a moment but that was silly. It's all good. Complete vindication. Can't wait to coach again in 26 with a slightly different roster and the same exact strategy.
