It seemed like Tomlin had to be convinced by the players to go for it.I actually think going for it was ballsy, it was stupid too because of the playcall, but not taking the points wasn't cowardly
Regardless, the play call was cowardly, as Tomlin was too concerned about a turnover on a passing play.
Living in his fears, if you will.
It was definitely too much distance for a running play. Sure, it could have worked, but it was low probability in that situation.
If that was what they were going to do, they would have been better off kicking the FG, forcing the Vikings to need two tds.
