Interactive Map of Earth's History

Biggest worry we have is getting smashed with an asteroid again.

A lot of stuff comes whizzing by often.

The world should be united into sinking money into a planetary asteroid defense system.
Bigger worry is pissed off aliens directing a big asteroid towards us, like flicking an instellar booger at an ant.

Just saw this; very late in responding....if the ashpalt/concrete actually gathered in lots of heat that created "warming", even a bit of heat each day, then that would have to go somewhere. The answer is that it does hold more heat, but then hits a level where it necessarily radiates the excess back into the atmosphere, just like dirt and trees do. If it didn't it would be a heat sink that gathered in energy until it blew up --- real good. So the better analysis of the increased temps is that the same thermometer measuring temps that used to be out in the country 50 years ago and is now in the city is indeed recording higher temps because the surrounding material is holding a higher amount of the same solar energy because it is less reflective. That does not mean the actual temperature locally is higher, just that we have installed small heat sinks around the thermometer. Scientists would not even compare the measurements in different situations if they were actually interested in comparable data, because the data isn't comparable when you change the conditions in which it is measured.

Global warming is a long con perpetrated by compassionate narcissists.
You would have to read the study, maybe I did not paraphrase it well enough.

Climate skeptics, who used to have a website named something like that, debunked the city-warming bs about 20 years ago.
But the consensus folks who run the interweb based on their consensus, seem to have made it hard to find.

OK, I urge all of you to read this. This article is epic. Mic drop, boom, epic.

Guy destroys the intentional deception delivered by the media on client change. Busted. Caught. Destroyed. It's pure propaganda.

Even a retard, sorry ****, could see we didn’t have much of anything this year/last. Didn’t most of us say to ourselves at one point this season, hmm no hurricanes this year. Get one, “sky is falling”. If I recall “this season” was to have an excessively high amount”. ….how dat go?

Fewer hurricanes.. Evidence that John Kerry is doing a good job.

From a June 29, 1989, Associated Press dispatch:

UNITED NATIONS (AP)—A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.

Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of “eco-refugees,” threatening political chaos, said Noel Brown, director of the New York office of the U.N. Environment Program, or UNEP.

He said governments have a 10-year window of opportunity to solve the greenhouse effect before it goes beyond human control.

As the warming melts polar icecaps, ocean levels will rise by up to three feet, enough to cover the Maldives and other flat island nations, Brown told The Associated Press in an interview on Wednesday.

Coastal regions will be inundated; one-sixth of Bangladesh could be flooded, displacing a fourth of its 90 million people. A fifth of Egypt’s arable land in the Nile Delta would be flooded, cutting off its food supply, according to a joint UNEP and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency study. . . .

Shifting climate patterns would bring back 1930s Dust Bowl conditions to Canadian and U.S. wheatlands, while the Soviet Union could reap bumper crops if it adapts its agriculture in time, according to a study by UNEP and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis.

This is a political “boogeyman” being created to siphon off tax dollars to corrupt politicians and their huge money donors. There is no serious intent to solve any “crisis”.

True, but even bigger than that.

Last year, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, made a similar statement.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution," she said in anticipation of last year's Paris climate summit.

"This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history."
