Iran

So you're now an anti-semite and against our ally Israel. You would prefer Iran to exist as is, a terrorist state, waging war itself and through proxies on the Middle East and America, while abusing and killing its citizens.

You are for this.
And there’s the name calling and accusations. I would prefer that five years from now we wouldn’t be comparing Iran to Iraq. Why will it be different?

I fall into the described veteran demographic, but if Democrats are not pro-Israel, what are they pro-??? Iran? I'm seeing Democrats who are pro-Hamas, a terrorist organization, because "**** those jew ********!!" The Hypocrisy from the far left is at ridiculous levels, bordering on comedy if it wasn't so dangerous.
Forgot to mention that the party of 80% of the Jooz apparently supports a terrorist regime that wants to kill all the Jooz.

That leaves 28 million who don’t want a secular government.
Oh I don't doubt the Islamists will put up a fight. Which is why my first comment on this was I hope we have a plan for the aftermath. We'll just have a lot more local support than we did in Iraq.

Hopefully.

There are some things that need to be understood about the ME and Iran.

Iran is not an Arab nation. They are non-Arab speaking, but speak Farsi. They are also mostly Suni Moslems which is not the majority of Arab Moslems . The largest part of the Arab Moslem world are Shia Moslems. Because of this, much of the Moslem world looks down on them. They don't speak the language of Alah, which is Arabic.

I have read many times that Iran kind of has this "red headed step child" mentality, which motivates them to be more extreme, as though this would make the rest of the Moslem world think more highly of them. They haven't said that, at least I have not seen that they have, but the idea has been put forward, by ME/Arab/Moslem experts that I have read, and in seminars I went to.

A good book about this is called "The Arab Mind" where the author takes a deep dive into the situation over there.

This will not just shake out. The "right" people need to be put in place, and I get the idea that Trump is not liking the idea that he might be the guy. Again, that is just a hunch. I get the idea that he wants locals to do it.

I knew a couple of people from Iran over the years. Smart, polite and good speakers. I liked them.

My wife worked for a Persian couple. They were awesome.

Best move would probably be the deposed Prince. He would have the most support.
Just don’t make the same mistakes that his father the Shah did.

then they could just easily protest in the streets to every move the new government makes, despite what it is, undermine the new leader's character since it doesnt agree with their own leanings and cause 24/7 never-ending disruption while also setting buildings on fire in mostly peaceful protests.

I would think that Trump would talk to him about being Iranian first, and taking care of his people.
