The deployment of heavy bombers to the United Kingdom’s RAF Fairford indicates that the U.S. and its allies are moving from initial "decapitation" strikes to a sustained, high-intensity bombardment of Iranian military and industrial infrastructure.

As of March 7–9, 2026, multiple U.S. strategic bombers have landed at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. Official military reports confirm that a total of four B-1B Lancer bombers have arrived, with additional B-52H Stratofortress and B-2 Spirit stealth bombers expected to follow shortly or operate out of the UK-US base at Diego Garcia.


Israeli journalist Itay Blumenthal explains a crucial tactical change: Flying bombers from the continental U.S. for single missions is a massive logistical strain. By "forward-deploying" them to the UK, the U.S. Air Force can launch "bomber pulses" - frequent, repetitive waves of heavy strikes with much shorter turnaround times. A single B-52 can carry up to 70,000 lbs of munitions (roughly 30 massive 900kg JDAM bombs).

This is more than quadruple the capacity of an F-15, allowing for the "saturation" of large targets like airbases, missile factories, and underground complexes.While the B-52 and B-2 are nuclear-capable, their current deployment in Operation Epic Fury is focused on conventional "bunker-buster" missions.

Analysts suggest they are targeting Iran's deepest hardened missile silos and command centers that smaller fighter jets cannot reach.The deployment follows Prime Minister Keir Starmer's decision to grant the U.S. permission to use British bases for "defensive" operations against Iranian missile sites.

Iran may be activating sleeper cells outside the country, alert says​

The encrypted transmission was intercepted by the U.S.

The U.S. has intercepted encrypted communications believed to have originated in Iran that may serve as "an operational trigger" for "sleeper assets" outside the country, according to a federal government alert sent to law enforcement agencies.

The alert, reviewed by ABC News, cites "preliminary signals analysis" of a transmission "likely of Iranian origin" that was relayed across multiple countries shortly after the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, was killed in a U.S.-Israeli attack on Feb. 28.

The intercepted transmission was encoded and appeared to be destined for "clandestine recipients" who possess the encryption key, the kind of message intended to impart instructions to "covert operatives or sleeper assets" without the use of the internet or cellular networks.

It's possible the transmissions could "be intended to activate or provide instructions to prepositioned sleeper assets operating outside the originating country," the alert said.

Israel's Military Intelligence Directorate (AMAN) has released new details on Saturday's IAF strike that destroyed the Quds Force's air transport network inside Iran.

More than 16 transport aircraft were struck and destroyed, along with additional components located in the vicinity of Tehran's airport. The aircraft had been used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force to arm and finance Iranian-backed terror proxies across the Middle East.

According to AMAN, Tehran's airport had been under close intelligence surveillance for years, with suspicious takeoffs and landings tracked and flagged through a broad collection and analysis effort spanning multiple intelligence units.

In an attempt to evade an Israeli strike, the Iranian regime had moved the aircraft to dedicated scrapyard compounds to complicate identification. AMAN says the aircraft were nonetheless located through a cross-referencing and decryption effort, and were subsequently targeted by the IAF.

The Quds Force transport network was responsible for transferring weapons and funds to Iran's regional terror proxies. The Quds Force operates to equip, train, and finance terror organizations with the aim of targeting Israeli and international civilians.

Well, the situation in Venezuela, with a change in leadership without other signicant collateral damage, is at least interesting. I really thought there would be more of a mess than seen so far. On the other hand, it doesn't seem like the people are any better off thus far.

Not sure if the new son of the Ayatollah as Leader is helpful, but maybe a couple more swipes thru the top leadership in Iran leaves them rudderless and willing to accept secular leadership with an American minder is a potential pathway?

Reports, not verified in mainstream, that an undisclosed underground pipeline, avoiding sanctions, has been destroyed, and the Brits have opened some airfield, so there is now more of a group effort.
