Veterans Plaza statue destroyed

Texas - A statue representing service members in Veterans Plaza at Teague Park in Longview has been destroyed.

Air Force veteran David Applewhite of Gladewater, who is involved with the Veterans Recognition Foundation, posted a photo on his Facebook page of the overturned statue.

"One of the statues guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier monument has been pushed over by vandals at the Veterans Plaza in Longview," Applewhite wrote. "Was not young children who did this."

Officials with the group who oversees the plaza later said the destroyed statue is not that of the Unknown Soldier, but that it represents every service member.

The veterans plaza, which was officially dedicated in November 2015, holds permanent markers for each American war since World War I.

These groups like this always manage to turn the majority of America against them in the end.....fringe White Nationalist groups included right along with AntiFa and BLM. The more radical these groups become, the more people who originally might have some common ground with them are gonna say, "Whoa hang on a second, maybe those guys on the other side are correct and these people are actually crazy". They slit their own throat with stupidity. As far as these imbeciles tearing up monuments everywhere, I think they will lose a lot of support very quickly with this stuff because it's leaving the realm of "social justice" and entering the realm of "out of control anarchy". The movements will lose followers when sanity starts to prevail and they will slide back into irrelevance.

Los Angeles cancels Columbus Day

The Los Angeles City Council voted 14-1 on Wednesday to officially mark the second Monday in October as Indigenous Peoples Day on the city’s calendar — a day to commemorate “indigenous, aboriginal and native people.”

“Removing Columbus Day and replacing it with Indigenous Peoples Day is the appropriate action for this city to take. We must send a signal to Washington D.C. that there is no better day to honor our original inhabitants while highlighting the absurdity of celebrating a historical figure responsible for such profound suffering, still felt by generations of Indigenous People everywhere."
