I’m pretty underwhelmed with what we have done in free agency to say the least. We are losing at least 4 starters, 2 are former pro bowl players and we have signed 5 likely starters only one of which is regarded as remotely top talent at their position. How are we better off?

The Chuks signing was a joke. Same money as La’el Collins… Ugh.

Meanwhile Buffalo picks up Von Miller and Duke Johnson with no money to spend.

Seriously? We have done great and not spent unwisely, we have reduced many needs aside from WR which is deep in this draft. We also have pre-season to bolster the roster as cuts are made. We are always pragmatic and not reactionary in free agency so this year has been great but still not panicked, unlike the Clowns.

It think the key is that the Steelers did not lock themselves into anything long term or with ridiculous money attached.
They did what they always do...
Sign their own
Spend conservatively on bringing in outside FA's
Go into the draft not hurting that much at anyone point on the roster. (WR this year may be the exception)

For the life of me I don’t understand the Browns strategy..Their Watson contract alone has backed them into a corner. Almost as bad as the dead money of Falcons and Ryan which also doesn’t seem to make any sense

Great position to be in as it might be are greatest strength in drafting. Steelers are not to shabby at drafting wr's.

Are you smoking peyote??? This offseason has been the most EXPLOSIVE one we've EVER had; but yet you find a reason to complain...

That's rich...

Von is old and best years behind him, way too long of a deal
Duke Johnson wth cares

Go join Bills mafia and watch them continue to not win SBs if Miller and Johnson are your “must haves”

Aside from paying a return specialist a lot of dough most the moves seem very good:
Signing James Daniels, Levi Wallace, Myles Jack a decent bridge QB in Trubisky all seem solid…even Cole may be decent- it was at least a need. and they kept the key pieces Witherspoon and Adams.

All we really lost was an aging slow CB, a WR who struggled for separation and an average at best safety.

I’d give them a solid B at a minimum.

The Chuks deal locks him up but can be gotten out of too if need be, the way it is structured not a horrid deal…just because tackles are massively paid now is not a fault of the Steelers.

The Steelers did exactly what they had to do. Signed one quality, but not huge budget OL and filled holes in the roster with solid players at lower-mid contracts. This team needed depth and they got it. The only contract I didn't like was Chuks. I still don't understand that other than they are hoping since he's so young he'll get better.

Steelers did great with all the signings but the Chuks signing. Giving a bad player that contract is not good business but overall a B plus with only that miss from being an A plus.

Chuks had the best stats of all the OL. Least amount of sacks, pressures allowed, tackles for a loss. Im not saying he is all pro but if he is a bad player what do you call the rest?

I would love to have Von Miller..........ten years ago.

Rated the #61 tackle by PFF. He is a horrible run blocker, a Rats main job. His pass protection record was helped by Ben getting rid of the ball in 2 seconds which makes it literally impossible for an outside pass rusher to get pressure much less sacks. Simple enough.

He still performed best of all the OL the the Steelers trotted out there. So how bad do you have to be to give up 7-8 sacks if Ben always getting rid of the ball in 2 seconds...Again not saying he great, but it was a deal that was not over the top that the Steelers can easily move on from if needed.

pff is a joke site

Huh? We have done practically nothing with Free Agents in the last 5 years...We NEVER have cap space

We addressed some of our Offensive lines needs, made tremendous depth moves, and got 2 absolute studs at Guard & Linebacker...

My guess is you are never ever going to be happy with a Steelers Free agency year

Totally agree with this. This is the most active they have been in free agency I can remember.
